Kindergarten Cops & Asinine Administrators - Saving the World From 5 Year Old Criminals

Those who pass as so-called school administrators & so-called police officers are at it again, saving us, the public, from the evil designs of the underworld of crime committed by 5 year olds.

At Fairmount Park Elementary School, St. Petersburg, Florida, a 5 year old girl took a temper tantrum. You may have seen the video of the incident on the news. Apparently this 5 year old outlaw went on her crime streak after her jelly beans were taken from her during a math exercise because she was acting silly. Her tantrum include pulling papers off the bulletin board, writing on the blackboard, flailing her arms & kicking at teachers. Since the teachers seem untrained to handle such situations, they called the local police.

By the time 4 officers arrived, the girl had calmed down. But that didn't stop are fearless fuzz from inciting the girl into more outbursts when she saw them approach her. They decided to arrest the girl. They put her over a desk & handcuffed her. The metal cuffs didn't fit (who woulda thought!), so they put plastic cuffs on her. These courageous cops then dragged her out & put her into a police car. The girl continued her outbursts from this latest indignity, so they put plastic cuffs on her legs.

Ever diligent, they called the Prosecutor for guidance & possible charges. The Prosecutor in effect told the cops to take a hike. The girl was soon released when her mother arrived on the scene. The girl faces school disciplinary action.

This is another sad tale of stupid & ignorant school administrators & even stupider & more ignorant cops. There is something drastically wrong with a school staff that can't handle a disruptive child & resorts to the quick fix of calling police. They didn't even call the campus officer, who has more experience with children then the local police. And the mindless cops are missing a screw if they think it is reasonable to handcuff a 5 year old, especially when she had already calmed down. They handcuffing her only incited her again. We hope the girls mother sues big & wins big against the school & police department.

It is happening too often. Too often nowadays we read about school officials abrogating their responsibilities of handling disciplinary issues in-house. Instead, they are too quick to call local police. And the police are too eager to respond to an incident by cuffing & arresting a child for what years earlier would be a trip to the Principal's Office. They are making criminals of children over petty & mundane school issues.

The ones who really need an education are these idiotic school officials & the equally idiotic police who respond.

But, hey, at least another killa kindergarten kid has been taken off the streets. The world is made a little bit safer thanks to our heros in the school administration & police force. Now maybe teachers can start doing what they're paid to do - teach. And cops can start doing what they're paid to do - spend some time going after the real criminals on the streets.

Borders? What Borders?

10%-15% of the population of Mexico lives illegally in the United States. If it were the other way around, at least 28 million Americans would be living illegally in Mexico. $23 billion dollars annually is sent back to families in Mexico from Mexicans working in the United States. It has surpassed oil exports as Mexico's biggest income producer. So much for the old saw about illegals contributing to the American economy.

Will the last Mexican in Mexico please turn out the lights before crossing the border? Gracias.

Habemus Papam

Pope Benedict XVI

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, a German, has been elected as Pope. He is the first German Pope in 1,000 years & at 78 the oldest Pope in 200 years.

Pope John Paul II's legacy will be a tough act to follow. Pope Benedict is very conservative in his adherence to traditional Catholic tenets. A close friend of John Paul, expect Pope Benedict to continue John Paul's mission. More liberal Catholics will be disappointed in his selection. The age of Cold War tensions during John Paul's era is gone & thus the focus of Pope Benedict will probably be more towards reinvigorating the Church & reaffirming the Church's basic tenets.

St. Malachy, through a vision, laid out a list of the last remaining Popes before the end of times. Pope Benedict is second to last. At his age his tenure in office may be a relatively short one, thus bringing us soon to the final Pope.

We wish Pope Benedict a successful & very long term in office.

Another Registered Sex Offender Kills Child

(click here for Sex Offender Registry by state)

13 yr old Sarah Lunde, who disappeared in Florida last week, has been found murdered. A registered sex offender has been charged with her murder. This comes on the heels of the murder of another Florida girl last month, 9 yr old Jessica Lunsford, by another registered sex offender.

There are over 33,000 registered sex offenders in Florida alone. Registering sex offenders does not stop their sick desires. All it does is make it a tad easier to track them down when a child goes missing.

Imposing a death sentence on a first offender is an extreme punishment which will never see the light of day. Mandatory long sentences need to be implemented without time off for good behavor. In addition to these long sentences, physical castration must be made mandatory. Of course, the radical ACLU bleeding hearts will think it cruel & unusual punishment to perform castration. They'd rather see a dead child then deny a pervert his sexual drive. And the courts will naturally weigh in on the side of the perverts.

The people in this country need to get serious about stopping these low-life scum. Registering sex offenders doesn't do squat, as can be seen by the recent rash of children murdered. It is well worth castrating pedophiles to protect our children. In attacking children, pedophiles give up their right to an orgasm. It is better that they ponder assault with a dead weapon then to have a dead child.

If drastic actions are not taken against these perverts then we just might as well get used to the idea of more dead children, more news clips of children's bodies being carried away from streams or woods, more anguished appeals from parents, more police news conferences announcing the arrest of a registered sex offender.

UPDATE: Florida reports it has lost track of 1,800 sex offenders. Yeah, registering sex offenders really works, huh?

Dying for Justice - The Legalized Murder of Terri Schiavo - Part III

Part I of this post (April 3) can be found here
Part II of this post (April 5) can be found here

What to make of Terri Schiavo's so-called husband, Michael Schiavo? We know not much of him or his life. We do not know his true motivations for killing Terri. But we do know the actions he has taken in regards to Terri. Friends & family of Terri have stated that when Terri first went into her current condition, Michael said that he would take care of her for the rest of her life & that Terri's parents would move in with him & Terri. Michael states that there was a falling out between him & her parents because they wanted some of the insurance money - over one million dollars - from the lawsuit Terri won for malpractice. Terri's parents deny this.

As time passed, Michael seems to have changed his mind about taking care of Terri for the rest of her life, unless "the rest of her life" meant until he could get the feeding tube removed. Rather than bringing Terri home, he institutionalized her. He began living with a woman & they had 2 children together. This common law relationship has been on-going for 10 years. We imagine it would have been awkward for Michael to have Terri, his wife, around the house what with the kids & common law wife. Why Michael would prefer to commit adultery rather than divorce a wife he had zero relationship with is a mystery, unless there was money to be gained upon Terri's death. The immorality of his connubial lifestyle speaks volumes of his character. Yeah, right, he still loved Terri. Wink, wink.

His testimony in court seeking guardianship of Terri includes his claim that Terri would have wanted to die under her current circumstances. So say he. In fact, he never once in the first 7 years said anything about her wish. Zero. Seven years later, when it is convenient for him, he recalls her "wishes".There is nothing on paper to back that up & there is contradictory claims from her parents. Since he had a vested interest in her death - his 2nd family & inheritance from Terri - the court failed to investigate this claim fully. His claim of her death wishes may have a more sinister motivation which we will come to shortly.

Michael went from the "loving husband" to tyrant as her legal guardian. He refused her any rehabilitative treatment: physical therapy, speech therapy or communications therapy. He no longer permitted her to be taken outdoors into the sunshine & fresh air, thus her whole life was spent in her small room. When suffering from a urinary infection, he refused her treatment with anti-biotics, thus requiring her hospitalization. He refused to allow an MRI or PET scan, which would have provided better diagnosis of Terri's condition. He refused to allow her to be given ice chips for her lips & mouth. Some nurses who cared for Terri stated that they did give her ice chips at times secretly & at the risk to their jobs. God knows what else he denied her or how her treated her when in the room alone with her.

Michael Schiavo refused Communion for Terri as she was near death, until bad press brought him around. He refused a Catholic service & burial for Terri, who was a Catholic. Ignoring the wishes of her parents he had her cremated & then callously refused to tell her parents where her ashes were buried. He says he buried them somewhere in Pennsylvania, but he could have easily put them out with Monday's trash.

All these actions by Schiavo does not sound like a loving husband. On the contrary, they sound like a hateful man. Hateful to Terri, hateful to her family. What would motivate such a "loving husband" to do all this?

There are those who see a sinister side to Terri's death. To be succinct - he may have assault her, thus causing her initial injuries & the following "vegetative state." Having found a new life with another woman it was time to get rid of the bitch, as the theory goes. In an ironic twist, he had the force of the Courts do his killing for him. This theory is not without its points.

Friends of Terri have reported that Terri told them she was thinking of divorce. She told one friend the day before her "heart attack" that she & Michael had a bad argument that day. Contrary to the conventional reports in the media, Terri did not have a heart attack which precipitated her condition. The emergency room found no evidence of heart attack. Instead, they did not find a cause for her condition.

In February, Florida's Department of Children and Families presented Judge Greer with a 34-page document listing charges of neglect, abuse, and exploitation of Terri by her husband, with a request for 60 days to fully investigate the charges. Judge "KillHer" Greer rejected this 60 day extension. The St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune had filed suit for the release of the abuse summaries, which covered 89 reports. But state Judge George "KillHer" Greer ruled the records belong to DCF, and although Terri Schiavo's husband can have access to the abuse files, the records cannot be made public.

Further questions about abuse are revealed in a bone scan report taken one year after Terri took "ill": "There are an extensive number of focal abnormal areas. ... These include: multiple bilateral ribs ... both sacroiliac joints ... both knees and both ankles." Radiographs reveal "compression fractures" of the spine and right femur. ... "Compression fracture presumably traumatic," the report says. Dr. W. Campbell Walker completed the March 7, 1991, bone scan, which was requested to "evaluate for trauma" as the result of a suspected "closed head injury." "This patient has a history of trauma," Walker wrote. "The presumption is that the other multiple areas of abnormal activity also relate to previous trauma." Walker listed apparent injuries to the ribs, thoracic vertebrae, both sacroiliac joints, both ankles and both knees. The report was obtained by the lawyer for Terri's parents. Coincidentally, after this report was revealed Michael Schiavo then announced he would have her cremated. Terri's parents have stated that Terri never had any fractures or such injuries at any time during her life prior to her "heart attack." Michael Schiavo claims all these injuries occured while she was in the hospice ( tough nurses, huh?)

Famed New York forensic pathologist, Dr. Michael Baden, stated, "That bone scan describes her as having a head injury. That's why she's there. That's why she's getting a bone scan," Baden explained, "and a head injury can cause, lead to the 'vegetative state' that Ms. Schiavo is [allegedly] in now." He went on, "It does show evidence that there are other injuries, other bone fractures that are in a healing stage. Those apparent injuries were likely the result of "some kind of trauma. The trauma could be from an auto accident, the trauma could be from a fall, or the trauma could be from some kind of beating that she obtained from somebody somewhere. It's something that should have been investigated in 1991."

"It's extremely rare for a 20-year-old to have a cardiac arrest from low potassium who has no other diseases," Baden said. He restated that such an occurrence would be "extremely unusual unless she had certain kind of diseases, which she doesn't have. "She was in her 20s. The
reason that she's in the state she's in is because there was a period of time, maybe five minutes or eight minutes, when not enough oxygen was going to her brain," Baden explained. "That can happen because the heart stops for five or eight minutes, but she had a healthy heart from what we can see."

Since Michael Schiavo was the proverbial fox in the medical records hen house & only he had control of them, it is easy to see where he could manipulate or deny access to those records as he saw fit. For the conspiracy theorists out there, it is understable that they could see an initial aggravated assault on Terri in her home, followed by the willful death of Terri to cover that crime, using the courts as an accessory to the murder. If Michael Schiavo did not assault & cause Terri's injuries, who else was in the house that did? To the conspiracy theorists, Schiavo's story that he heard her fall is just that - a story.

Regardless of whether he caused the injuries or not, we at American Values rank him alongside Judge George "KillHer" Greer as profound shitheads. If he did assault her & cause her condition, then he has Judge George "KillHer Greer to thank for his getting away with murder.

Part IV of the legalized murder of Terri Schiavo will be posted soon.

Dying for Justice - The Legalized Murder of Terri Schiavo - Part II

Part I of this post (April 3) can be found here

There are two people who have a direct responsibility for the killing of Terri Schiavo. Some lesser responsibility falls on a few others, only in that they failed to use all means possible to stop the first two from killing her. We will start with one of the most responsible for her death: Judge George Greer.

Judge Greer, surprisingly, is a conservative, a Republican & a Baptist. He is a judge on Florida's Sixth Judicial Circuit Court. It is he that has been involved in the Terri Schiavo case from its inception. He initially ruled in favor of Terri's husband, Michael, to be her legal guardian. He ruled on & determined the facts in the case, i.e., that Terri was in a persistent vegetative state. He also ruled in favor of Michael when Michael requested the feeding tubes be removed. Only a bill (Terri's Law) by the Florida Legislature prevented that removal - until the Florida Supreme Court ruled Terri's Law was unconstitutional.

Since that time, Greer has ruled consistently against Terri's parents in their appeals to not have the tube removed & consistently ruled against them after the tube was in fact removed, thus leading to Terri's death.

Her purposeful killing has been accomplished under the aegis of George (Killher) Greer, a judge too dogmatic, too stubborn, too arrogant, too stupid, too incompetent or too lacking in compassion to "err of the side of life", as President Bush phrased it

In the initial court investigation, 5 neurologists examined Terri & reported the results to Greer. Three of the five deemed her to be in a persistent vegetative state. The other two did not. Despite differing conclusions & without further investigation, Greer ruled Terri was in a persistent vegetative. This was tantamount to a death sentence. Considering the implications & what eventually followed, Greer could have been more flexible in his ruling. But he was not.

Greer ruled legal guardianship of Terri to her husband, Michael. Her parent's appeal to have guardianship changed to them was denied by Greer. Guardianship is not written in stone. If a guardian is not acting in the best interests of a person or if questions arise about the guardian then the court can review & remove the guardian. Terri's husband has been living with a common law wife for 10 years & is the father of 2 of her children. Considering that he was still married to Terri during this time, what he was doing was committing adultery in view of everyone. Certainly grounds for divorce if Terri were able to file. Yet, where was Greer? Didn't he stop to think that just maybe a review of Michael's guardianship was in order? Didn't Greer question why Michael would still wish to remain married to Terri since he started a whole new life & family? Didn't Greer wonder if Michael still had the best interests of Terri at heart? But, no, Greer apparently thought all this okay. Greer failed Terri miserably in this. Michael denied Terri rehabilitative therapy: physical, speech & communication. He also denied her anti-biotics when she had a urinary infection. He micro-managed her care to the point that she could not even be given ice chips to moisten her dry mouth & lips. He refused to let Terri leave her room for fresh air & sun. Where the hell was Greer when all this was going on? He allowed Michael to play dictator to Terri & nary questioned what Michael was doing. This is a responsible judge? This is a compassionate judge?

Congress passed last minute legislation ordering the Federal Court to conduct a de novo review of Terri's case. Additionally, subpoenas were issued for Terri & Michael to appear before Congress. Whether you think Congress should or shouldn't have issued the subpoenas, the fact is they were issued & they were legal & binding. "KillerHer" Greer on the other hand arrogantly waved off the subpoenas. For one reputed to be a stickler with the law, Greer had no qualms disregarding the subpoenas & not following the law. He is open for obstruction of justice charges & Congress should so charge him. We cannot have arrogant little judges thumbing their nose at Congress & not following the law. They are not realms to themselves as many of them would think they are.

As to whether Terri expressed wishes to die if found under the conditions she was now in, Greer ruled that there was "clear & convincing evidence" that Terri did wish this. But Greer had only the self-serving hearsay testimony of Michael & 2 of his immediate family on this. Yet Greer systematically ruled that testimony from Terri's friends and family was unreliable or not credible. Hearsay evidence is not clear & convincing & to Greer's shame he should have known this or he ignored it. Florida Statute 765.404, says that clear and convincing evidence of the patient's intent for medical treatment must be established. Greer violated this statute.

He violated the statute again. Florida Statute 765.404, which defines persistent vegetative state, requires that the condition be determined and diagnosed as permanent prior to the withdrawal of life-prolonging means. Greer did not have this done. Terri died in what Greer himself ruled as a persistent vegetative state. Greer ruled that no further neurological tests may be conducted on Terri, using functional MRI to determine if she is in a "persistent vegetative state," as Greer found in 2002, or if Terri is "minimally conscious." Greer ordered that the family may not introduce oral nutrition and hydration following the removal of Terri's gastric feeding tube. An interesting point - ordering no oral nutrition & hydration implies that just maybe Terri was in fact capable of surviving without the feeding tube. Florida Statute 744.3215 (Rights of Persons Determined Incapacitated) requires that incapacitated people cannot be deprived of food and water. Terri was incapacitated & never was determined to be in a permanent vegetative state. Another violation by Greer. Florida law also allows their Family Division to gain custody of a person being denied food & water. But Greer issued an order for the agency to stay away. Greer needs to be impeached for these flagrant violations of Florida law.

Questions of abuse of Terri were raised, bone scans revealed trauma to parts of her body, yet Greer refused to investigate these.

With all of the above, one has to wonder why Greer was so eager to kill Terri. He apparently had no humanity in him for this tragic woman. He knew Terri's parents would well take care of her, unlike her husband, & that they would be faithful to her, unlike her husband. Yet he deprived the parent of the child & the child of the parent. What point did killing her prove? Only that Greer had the power to do it? Greer, the demi-god?

We at American Values have judged George "Killher" Greer to be one of the most profound shitheads we know of. Case closed.

Two interesting asides: The law firm representing Michael Schiavo made a campaign contribution to Greer a few years ago when he was running for judge. Conflict of interest? The second point - Greer was asked by his pastor to leave his church. Greer complied with this higher authority.

Part III of the legalized murder of Terri Schiavo will be posted soon.

Dying for Justice - The Legalized Murder of Terri Schiavo - Part I

And so it ends. For Terri at least.

The repercussions of Terri Schiavo's fate will be debated for a long time & will have a profound effect on future medical & legal decisions that we have yet to imagine. There may well be changes in state laws, court procedures, medical determinations & Congressional legislation when it comes to determining who will live & who will die.

This country has drifted into a culture of death since Roe v. Wade & the unfettered abortion of millions of babies. Dr. Kevorkian, Doctor Death to his friends, further highlighted this culture with his little killing machine.

What to make of the Terri Schiavo drama itself? It is clear that she was killed when there was no good reason to kill her. Her killing came under the guise of the law & legal proceedings & thus made her killing sound all so right . But it was all so wrong. Not only did the legal system fail Terri egregiously in determining the facts of the case, but it failed her morally by refusing to take another look at those "facts" & maybe, just maybe allowing her her right to live. It would not have hurt the legal system to do so. They would still have their opportunity to kill her if a review confirmed the initial determination & it would have given the courts a firmer legal & moral basis to do so. It's not like she was going anywhere anytime soon.

Instead, she was denied a last chance to live & was put down in a manner that even dogs don't suffer. In fact, jail time or hefty fines await you if you starve a dog. She was starved & dehydrated over 13 long days. Her husband's attorney described her as "peaceful", "calm" & "more beautiful" than he's ever seen her, while she was in the throws of her starvation. He makes it sound like the glorious, peaceful death of Edward G. Robinson as Beethoven's "Pastoral" played in the background in the movie "Soylent Green."

Others contend differently. The Nazis used starvation in the concentration camps as a means of torture. You've seen the pictures. And speaking of torture, the Geneva Convention labels starvation as torture, as does Amnesty International. Naturally, the radical ACLU, which is a star player in the culture of death & who would condemn the Nazis for starvation, were on the side on putting down Terri too.

Part II of this killing story will begin to focus on those specifically responsible for her murder - accomplices, if you will.

Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II passed peacefully today.

Someone had said that a Pope dies just like any other man, but when a Pope dies the world watches. This is particularly true of Pope John Paul II.

The first non-Italian Pope since the 1500's, he reigned for 26 years. Those 26 years have seen profound changes in the world. Pope John Paul II was in the forefront of those changes. Armed only with the moral authority of his position, the deep belief in his religion & the fervent desire to bring peace & freedom to those behind the Iron Curtain, Pope John Paul II helped free millions of oppressed people in the Soviet Union & Eastern Europe. While the struggle toward that freedom progressed, his voice lent hope toward a bright future to those who would have despaired without it.

As the head of the Catholic Church, he was unwavering in the core of his Catholic beliefs. He did not compromise the tenets of the Church at a time when many Catholics were questioning those tenets & questioning the Church's relevance in the modern word of abortions & looser sexual mores. He loudly proclaimed those tenets & reaffirmed them. He acknowledged past wrongs committed by the Church & sought to redress them. Like a good father, Papa John gently admonished those Catholics who were going astray of the Church's beliefs & in doing so caused them to reassess their faith & made them stronger Catholics then they had been. He also reached out to the non-Catholic world, to Jews & Muslims & other religions, seeking reconciliation, mutual respect & understanding. He made it the moral duty of the greater of us to help the lesser, the need to help those in poverty & war-torn areas & those suffering the scourge of AIDS & other diseases.

Above all, Pope John Paul II exuded love & hope to the world & millions responded in kind. His message to the world was not a Catholic message - it was a universal message that people of all faiths understood. His coming into this troubled world, at this time in history & with his voice, when it was so dearly needed, makes one wonder if it was not foreordained.

He is with his God now, leaving behind a world made a little better by him. And really, what greater legacy for him or for any of us then to leave behind a world made a little better?

New Jersey Bans Gays

In a stunning vote today, the NJ Legislature, both the Senate & the Assembly, voted 226-12 to ban homosexuals from NJ. The bill is expected to be signed by the Governor early next week.

The bill has no effect on those homosexuals who already live in NJ - they have been "grandfathered" in. However, any homosexuals who move to NJ after the bill has been signed by the Governor must declare their sexual orientation to be eligible for NJ State welfare, food coupons & other benefits. The bill is weakened by its "don't ask, don't tell" policy, so that homosexuals who do not declare their sexual orientation will likely slip into the bureaucracy undetected. An Assembly committee has been established to find a way to plug this loophole.

Assemblyman Harvey Milk (D-Hudson), who sponsored the bill, hopes that through this measure NJ will become a more family oriented state. "We are tired of being the butt of gay jokes", he said. "We really are a family-loving state & this needs to be demonstrated." However, the ACLU has vowed to fight the legality of such a measure & plans to take the case to the U.S. Supreme Court if need be.

We would prefer if the NJ Legislature put more effort into stopping the 6 trillion trucks that come into NJ every day, clogging our highways & polluting the Garden State. We'd rather be pink than polluted.

Bush Calls Patriots "Vigilantes"

Speaking at a press conference last week alongside Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, the president said: "I'm against vigilantes in the United States of America. I'm for enforcing the law in a rational way."

He was referring to a group called The Minuteman Project. This is a group of volunteers who plan to patrol, by land & air, Arizona's border with Mexico. Any illegal aliens they spot will be reported to the Border Patrol. They will not interdict or interfere. They will merely report. They are doing what the Federal government has failed to do to secure our southern border. A need for 2,000 BorderAgents was met with the Administration by requesting less than 300. The Minutemen maybe have had an impact because now the Administration is aiming for 500 - still far short of the 2,000 needed.

This does not sit well with El Presidente Fox. He has threatened to take the U.S. to an international court over the matter. He has also posted 1,000 Mexican soldiers along that area as an intimidation factor. A terrorist guerilla group down Mexico way has threatened to come up to the Minutemen & "teach them a lesson." Even the radical libnut ACLU is monitoring them. The Minutemen must be doing something right to garner the wrath of Fox, the terrorists & the crazy ACLU. Fox has repeatedly interfered with U.S. policy along the border & has encouraged the hordes of illegals invading this country.

For President Bush to call the Minutemen "vigilantes" & liken them to the image of a lawless crowd bent on extra-legal justice is an outrage. It is more of an outrage that he said it standing next to the likes of El Cerdo Vicente Fox. Bush said that he is for "enforcing the law in a rational way." We haven't seen any enforcement yet, rational or otherwise.

President Bush owes an apology to the Minutemen. Rather than call concerned Americans "vigilantes", what he should have done while on that podium was to give Vicente Fox a good swift kick in his cajones.
