Barney Baloney, a British clown, said he was told by bosses at a supermarket where he was booked to appear that he should leave his balloons at home because of the potential for allergic reactions.

He has previously had to ditch his bubble-making machine because he could not get public liability insurance as companies assessed that youngsters might slip and hurt themselves.

He said he was also told by one venue he could not twist balloons into the shape of guns for fear of encouraging youngsters to commit violence, although swords were deemed acceptable.

"We have banned balloons because latex is used in the manufacture of them and this can trigger an allergic reaction in some children. We always have the welfare of children at heart", said a supermarket spokesman - er sorry - spokesperson.

Is the world getting stupidier because of political correctness gone askew? Or are there just more stupid idiots being born these days?

Dems Side With Terrorists

A group of Muslim imams filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against US Airways and unknown "John Doe" passengers. The imams were removed from US Airways Flight 300 on Nov. 20 after fellow passengers on the Minneapolis-to-Phoenix flight complained about the imams' suspicious behavior. This was seen by many as an attempt to dissuade citizens from reporting suspicious activity if they knew they could be sued.

In response, the House of Representatives passed an amendment to the Homeland Security bill that would protect citizens from liability when reporting suspicious activity.

However, the Democrats, in a Senate/House committee, failed to include this amendment into the bill.

"Democrats are trying to find any technical excuse to keep immunity out of the language of the bill to protect citizens, who in good faith, report suspicious activity to police or law enforcement," Rep. King(R) said. "I don't see how you can have a homeland security bill without protecting people who come forward to report suspicious activity."

“That language was put into this bill with broad bipartisan support making it clear that having Americans protected from silly lawsuits if they notice suspicious behavior and report it is just plain common sense," House Republican Leader John Boehner said. "And why would they remove that language and I think they are asking for serious trouble if the language is in fact taken out.”

The nation celebrates the 231th year since the Declaration of Independence. July 4th, 1776 was the watershed moment when the American colonies voted to formally break from Great Britain. War was inevitable & the successful outcome of that war for the colonies was gloomy indeed.

An assemblage of volunteers was pitted against the most formidable military power in the world. Success came 6 yrs later after a long, contentious fight for independence. But that only set the stage for building a nation. The Articles of Confederation, then the Constitution finally gave birth to the United States of America.

There were many heroes & brilliant men who helped establish the U.S.A at that time. It could almost seem that Divine Providence stepped in by delivering so many of those men at that time.

The U.S.A of 1787 was an unheard of experiment in that era - a truly free, democratic Republic. From our perspective, it is easy to not appreciate how truly revolutionary this form of government was.

Let us celebrate what our ancestors gave us & the world. Let us remember those in the armed forces who won the right for this country to exist & those in all our armed conflicts who helped & continue to help this country remain free.

America is the bright beacon of the world, the best hope of the world. This is attested to by the millions of have come, still come & wish to come to these shores.

It just doesn't end. Kilmer Middle School in Virginia has a new rule that will stop the killings & rapes & vicious assaults that are going on in our school systems with these little brats - No Touching!!!!

Yup, kids are no longer allowed to give a hug, hold hands, give high 5's, give a handshake &, we guess, bump into each other in the hallways.

School officials say the rule helps keep crowded hallways and lunchrooms safe and orderly, and ensures that all students are comfortable. Deborah Hernandez, Kilmer's principal, said the rule makes sense in a school that was built for 850 students but houses 1,100. She said that students should have their personal space protected and that many lack the maturity to understand what is acceptable or welcome. School officials say that in a culturally diverse school families might have different views of what is appropriate. Ah yes, we come around to the diversity crap again.

"You get into shades of gray," Hernandez said. "The kids say, 'If he can high-five, then I can do this.( ed. yeah, like raping & killing, huh?)' "

Repeat offenders could get suspension or detention. Well, at least this is better than other schools who call the police who than handcuff the kid & cart him to jail.

These school officials are idiots too. Kids cannot learn right from wrong if they live in a sanitized environment where humanity is minimized. Our schools are turning our children into little robots. No touching, no dodge ball (violent), no playing cop & robbers in the playground (gasp, finger guns ya know), no this, no that. And violators will be shackled & carted away or expelled or suspended for a year.

We've heard that those who major in Education in our colleges are the lowest achievers. And with each idiot policy from these school administrators, it only reinforces what we've heard. Zero-tolerance policies are made by Zeros.

Stupid School Administrators

In the grand tradition of zero tolerance policies in schools, another school district has proved that it can be stupider than another districts.

Cornerstone at Pedregal School, a public school in California for k - 5th grade, has a tradition whereby the 5th graders graduating can decorate their caps. Children put little plastic animals on their caps or school scenes or whatever. About 10 of the children happened to put miniature plastic toy soldiers.

The Principal, Denise Leonard was aghast because these little soldiers actually had toy guns. Toy guns mind you! Well this just couldn't do. She ordered the children to cut off the guns. Yup, the little guys now had sawed-off m-16's.

Leonard cited school zero tolerance policy against weapons on school grounds. She backed that up by citing the Federal guns in school law. But guess what, folks. Federal law makes no mention of miniature toy guns. It is talking about the real bang-bang things.

Denise Leonard is a fool & a jackass & should be removed from her overpaid position. She is one of the politically-correct crowd, the ones who lack common sense & are more concerned pushing their ridiculous agendas then helping the children in their care. Her inane actions will cause more harm to the children then ever a miniature toy gun will. We repeat - she is a fool & a jackass.

Too many children are being carted away in handcuffs or expelled for what otherwise should be a talk to the child or parent, if even that is warranted. God, we hate the jerks.

Salvation Army Says English Only - Government Sues

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)has decided to sue the Salvation Army because they require English only from their employees.

Two Spanish-speaking employees were given a year to learn Englsih or they would be terminated. The employees failed to do so & they were fired.

In steps the EEOC, whose lawyers go out of their way to find employers to sue. The EEOC filed a lawsuit against the Salvation Army claiming the employees had suffered "emotional pain, humiliation and embarrassment" as a result of the English-only policy

The Salvation Army is one of the most beneficial organizations in the world. Their good deeds & charity are renown. They are also a religious organization.

But the EEOC, aka Big Brother, has decided that they will impose their will upon the Army. In 2003 aFederal judge upheld the Salvation Army policy, but EEOC is not satisfied & looking for another ruling, more favorable to it.

Paul Weyrich writes in his column, "Then there is the EEOC itself, an organization which has spent the last 25 years or so filing lawsuits on behalf of real (and imagined) victims of every possible type of discrimination: sex, age, disability, race, etc. Often these lawsuits are against individuals and other times against large corporations or public agencies. A result has been thousands of hours spent by employers attempting to avoid litigation. I shudder to think of the amount of effort and money spent on lengthy seminars and briefings for human resource departments while American jobs have been disappearing overseas on almost a daily basis.

"One of the latest EEOC "campaigns" is to end background checks by many employers because they might discriminate against people who have served prison terms. Now sometimes people do deserve a second chance when they have paid their debt to society but shouldn't the employer get to decide whether to hire someone with a criminal record? Imagine a future time when an employer could be fined for not hiring someone with a criminal record. I have no trouble believing that this is what the EEOC would like to see happen."

Boris Yeltsin, 76, just died. He was the first President of the new Russian Republic after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Yeltsin worked his way up as an apparatchik, a part of the Soviet political system. He is famously remembered for his stand against a coup plot aimed at Gorbachev. He defiantly stood atop a tank & challenged the coup leaders - an act that could have easily resulted in his death.

His stand rallied the people of Russia & the coup was thwarted.

He was an unlikely hero who rose to defy those who would defeat democracy.

The U.S. military reports on a car bombing in Iraq. A car was allowed to pass a check point because there were 2 children in the backseat. The car drove through the checkpoint & parked near a school. The 2 adults in the car got out & soon after the car exploded, killing 3 bystanders & the 2 children in the car. The identity of the children are unknown.

This is so sickening that words escape us. To use children as unwitting suicide bombers is beyond the pale of rational human beings. So is exploding a truck ladden with chlorine. So is the cutting off of noses & ears as has recently happened in Afghanistan to trucker drivers who supplied the U.S. military. So is the cutting off of a nose, ears & tongue of a 14 year-old girl in India. So is the daily beheadings in Iraq, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. So is using electric drills against victims.

The so-called Islamist jihadists in the world are pure evil. They have no sense of humanity at all. They need to be eliminated in what ever rat holes they hide in.

This is the enemy we are facing. If we did not invade Iraq, this scum would still be out there, still causing their mayhem & horrific crimes against humanity. They had been doing it long before the Iraq war. If we pulled all troops out of the Middle East, if we pulled all American interests out of the Middle East, they would still be there...& eventually here.

We are in this struggle against them for the long haul. And Americans better steel themselves against them & not weaken in this fight.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, in the state of Washington, is considering banning booing at high school sports events. Besides booing, offensive chants, face makeup, placards, printed foam fingers & articial noisemakers will be banned.

Texas Forces Sex Vaccine On Children

Texas has become the first state in the nation to require schoolgirls to be vaccinated with Merck & Co.'s human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in order to be allowed in school. HPV's are transmitted only by sexual contact. One result can be cervical cancer. The drug is called Gardasil.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry by-passed the Legislature & signed an Executive Order mandating the vaccinations before the Sept 2008 school year. The vaccination will be required for all 11-12 year old girls. There is an exemption for parents on religious grounds. The 3-shot series will cost $360.

We have serious, serious problems with this. The vaccination program was by fiat of the Governor. It wasn't voted on by the peoples representatives - the Legislature. Perry expressed his concern about women who contract cervical cancer, yet percentage-wise the rate is low & has been dropping. The FDA recently approved the drug, but there have been no long-term studies on the drug's effects, especially with young children. There have been reports of bad side-effects. Of the 30 types of HPV's, Gardisil only attacks 4 of them.

Since HPV's are not airborne & only contracted through sexual contact, it is no business of the State to make it mandatory. This should be a parents choice. The drug is available to anyone who wants it on a voluntary basis. We also, along with many parents, think this sends a bad message to teens about sexual activity, along with passing out condoms in schools. It is ridiculous to force parents to pay $360 for a vaccine they have objections to. It would be far better if Perry used his executive orders to mandate flu vaccines - which are not now mandated. More people die of the flu, than cervical cancer.

Beyond this, we see a windfall & conflict of interest for Merck & Co. They are the only producer of the drug & they have been lobbying in Texas & other states for its mandatory use. At $360 a pop, they stand to reap in millions of dollars.

There are also questions about Perry's conflict of interest in this affair. His former chief of staff, Mike Loomey, now is a lobbyist for Merck, and Merck made thousands of dollars in contributions to Perry's re-election campaign. Reports also noted that the mother-in-law of Perry's current chief of staff, Texas Republican State Rep. Dianne White Delisi, is a state director for Women in Government, one of the groups that has received grants to work on the issue of HPV. And Women in Government is, you guessed it, strongly in favor of the vaccine.

And a Merck employee sits on a board for Women in Government, whose members have been responsible for pushing the Merck agenda on the vaccine in various states, reports said.

This stinks of cronyism & quid pro quo.

There are pending bills in the Texas Legislature to stop this Big Brother totalitarianism by Perry. We hope they succeed in stopping this ursurption of parental rights.

Lawsuit - School Banned Jesus Costume

A Christian legal group has sued a school district on behalf of a 10-year-old boy who claims his rights to religion and free speech were violated when he was not allowed to wear a Jesus costume during Halloween activities.

The complaint, filed in federal court Tuesday, says officials at Willow Hill Elementary School in suburban Glenside told the boy Oct. 31 that he could not wear his faux crown of thorns or tell others he was dressed as Jesus.

The principal, Patricia Whitmire, told the boy's mother that the costume violated a policy prohibiting the promotion of religion, according to the lawsuit. Whitmire suggested that the fourth-grader, whose costume included a robe, identify himself as a Roman emperor, the suit states.

Though the boy's costume was rejected because of its religious nature, the principal allowed other students to dress up as witches and devils, according to the lawsuit.

Supporting the troops

The movie "Goodfellas" has that great scene where the character Tommy is told he's funny. Tommy plays it up & answers, "How the f*** am I funny? Funny how? Funny like I'm a clown here to amuse you? Exactly how the f*** am I funny?" The scene goes on like this for awhile.

It reminded me of the anti-war crowd, the liberals & libnuts. They were put in a corner when they started bashing the war in Iraq. They were not about to redux the Vietnam protesters who spat on the soldiers & decried their war crimes. So they played it both sides: they are against the war, but support our troops. Oh, really? This is where the Tommy scene comes in.

How the f*** do they support the troops? Do they go to veterans hospitals to visit the wounded soldiers? Do they send care packages & goodies to the troops & write letter of supports & good cheer? Exactly how the f**** do they support our troops?

Does their supporting the troops mean that they wish our soldiers kill as many terrorists as possible, kill as many insurgents as possible so the war can end sooner & the troops can come home? Do they mean they are supporting the war on terror so we can spare ourselves & those in other countries future terrorist acts? Are they rooting for a stable Iraqi government? Are they rooting for success in Afghanistan? Are they shutting their claptraps, holding back their denigrating remarks about our military & President Bush, stifiling the doom & gloom so as not to encourage the terrorists & bring down the will of the American people?

How the F*** are they "funny"?

No they are not funny - it is all a ruse. They are pathetic. They do not support the troops. They only say so to marginalize the criticism against them. In truth, they don't care a whit about the troops. They never have & never will. Some of them still call our troops war criminals & still abuse them.

Near the end of the movie, Tommy's head is blown off. Figuratively speaking, we can blow off the head of the claims of support for the troops by the anti-war crowd.

Fox News released a poll taken January 16-17. One of the questions asked was, "Do you personally want the Iraq plan President Bush announced last week to succeed?"

51% of Democrats answered yes, 15% percent were not sure, 34% said no.

Cat Saves Family From Fire

An alert tabby cat saved an Australian family of four from a house fire by clawing at its owner's face, emergency officials said on Friday. The tabby sprang into action by waking his unidentified owner when a mattress caught fire as the family slept early on Friday in Cairns in Australia's tropical north. "The cat was probably the best smoke alarm system ... it was clawing at the occupant's face and got him up and out of bed," Cairns fire service spokesman Robert White-Macfarlane told reporters. The man was then able to wake his family and call for help.

In other news, Saddam Hussein was executed at 6am Baghdad time.

Iraq, I Ran, I Stayed - What To Do

Iraq is not the Vietnam - like quagmire that's being depicted by some media & pundits. Nor is success in Iraq easily seen down the road. The American military & US policy is facing a host of problems.

The primary problem is the Iraqi religious & political divisions that are perpetuating the on-going violence. Iraqis have yet to learn peaceful solutions to on-going disputes. Shiite & Sunni religious sects are at each others throats. Thrown into this are the former Baathists of Saddam's regime who hope to topple the current government & retake the power they lost. There are the nationalists who can't stand the presence of American troops. There are the militias of Sadr & other leaders. Least we forget, there is Al Qada & the foreign volunteers & agents of Iran & Syria who are looking to destabilize the country. And let us not forget about the common thug & criminal who for his own enrichment or for a price adds to the mix of instability.

We are not just fighting one army or group. We are fighting many groups with shared or opposing views & ideas. We are fighting a culture of corruption & dealing with Iraqi army & police who have shifting loyalties or opposing loyalties.

Coupled with all this is an Iraqi government that has been less than stellar in unifying the country & imposing a central government will on areas & groups that need to be focused on. Many of those in the government have open ties with militias & corruption is ever present, even rampant in some quarters.

The US military cannot defeat this hodge podge that is Iraq. Their prime mission was to defeat the Iraqi military & remove Saddam. They did this in a quick & stunning manner, with few casualties. It is the aftermath of insurgents & terrorists & pay-back killings between Iraqis that cannot be defeated & has caused the vast amount of casualties to the US military.

The US removed a brutal dictator & gave birth to the first democracy in the Arab Middle East. We stayed in Iraq to ensure that that democracy took root & the government of Iraq was stable enough to govern Iraq. But we cannot be an extension of that government. We cannot fight the battles for their government, nor for that matter for the Iraqi population. It is up to the Iraqis themselves to do that.

It is up to the Iraqis to come to terms with each other at some point. We cannot be their police, their army or their government for the long haul. We can only do so much. We can only give them the opportunity for a democratic country. What they do with that opportunity is their responsibility. Currently, they are blowing it.

The Iraqi government has put restrictions on our attacks against militias - Shiite in particular. They've released insurgent leaders we've captured. They told us to remove barricades from cordoned-off areas. We are not in their employ.

What we need to do is tell the Iraqi government what we are going to do. We are going to increase troops levels & go after the militias that are a large part responsible for the carnage. We are going to lock down the entire country if we have to. We need to continue training & building the Iraqi military. The Iraqi army can follow or not, but we will do what we have to do to drastically reduce the craziness. We must be ruthless in achieving that goal. Then we hand the keys back to Iraq & leave. What they do after we leave is their business.

We need to put Iran & Syria on notice that they need to stop aiding & abetting foreign infiltrators, they need to lock down their borders & stop facilitating crossings into Iraq or there will be punitive measures taken against them. So far the US has done little to address this issue.

The Iraq Study Group recommendations are at best a joke. Why they think Iran & Syria should be brought into talks to help stop the violence, when they are perpetuating it, is a mystery. Why they think that settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian issue should be linked to Iraq is a mystery. If there was no Israel the radicals in Iran would still be fomenting trouble against the Great Satan.

The media & many Democrats have trashed this war from the get go. They are playing political football because they abhor the current President. They distort, lie & exaggerate in anyway they can to humiliate this President, not caring about the country or its soldiers. They are reprehensible.

We are in the War on Terror for the long haul, like it or not. It is the Islamo-fascists that have chosen this fight, not us. They will not just go away by wishful thinking. We need to crush them in Iraq, Iran or wherever else we need to go to stop them. If we as Americans lose heart to do this, if we are more concerned about the newest iPod or Gameboy then the threat before us, then we are in for some tragic times.

Sensitivity Run Amuck Again

A high school choir in Riverside, California was asked to stop singing Christmas carols during an ice skating show featuring Olympic medalist Sasha Cohen out of concern the skater would be offended because she's Jewish.

Choir director Staci Della-Rocco said she complied with the request when a city staff member approached her along with a police officer "because a policeman told me to stop. I didn't want to have a big old huge scene in front of my kids."

How dare they offend Sasha Cohen. Sasha must be deeply offended, right? Wrong. Sasha Cohen gave no complaint or indication that she was offended. In fact, her web site lists the Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies she is scheduled to be present at.

Instead, it was an idiotic staff member who on her own thinks she knows what Sasha Cohen is feeling, who thinks she knows what's best for everyone else when it comes to sensitivity. The irony is that the patronizing staff member is the insensitive one. Extrapolate this into State & Federal do-gooder legislators who think they know what's best for the rest of us & you can see where this whole "sensitivity" & multicultural awareness takes us - into a fool's paradise.

And we think the police officer should be retrained so he or she learns what is & is not within the law enforcement domain.

A 46 year old school teacher in Afghanistan was killed by members of the Taliban - that peace loving Muslim radical group that ruled the country until the US invasion in 2001. Three other teachers have been killed also.

The teachers' crime? He had the audacity to teach young Afghani girls & help give them the education they were forbidden under Taliban rule.

What The Recent Elections Portend

Now that the Democrats have control of the House & Senate, here are a few things we can expect:

Hearings: The far liberal end of the Democrats will assuredly run endless hearings on most of President Bush's policies or personnel. Don Rumfeld with be brought in to testify about Iraq & Guantanamo Bay detainees. Hearings about hurricane Katrina will commence looking for a Administration scapegoat. Hearings over terrorist wiretaps & on & on. They will only be used as a means to bash Bush.

Iraq: The Democrats were free to play fast & loose with Iraq & use it for their own political purposes, despite the damage they caused in American morale or in encouraging our enemies. But now they own Iraq. They must decide whether to fund the various defense bills concerning Iraq - whether to deny funds, pull the troops out, etc. They have now lost the free ride.

Taxes: Expect a push to remove the tax cuts that President Bush got in the Republican Congress. They will seek to even increase taxes.

Immigration: They will now come forward with bills to grant amnesty to the 10-20 million illegals in this country & put them on the "path to citizenship". They will ruin the country with these bills.

Healthcare: Expect them to push for a healthcare system that will cost billions upon billions, but will be paid for by the above mentioned tax increases.

Spending: Though the Republicans became big spenders over these past 6 years, expect even bigger spending with ridiculous programs.

Environment: Expect the far left side of the Democrats to push to draconian laws that will damage the economy & further restrict our search for oil.

Judges: Conservatives judges will be out; appointees now coming from the liberal & activists side of the court who will be more inclined toward gay marriage, anti-Christian rulings & inane social-progressive rulings in "diversity".

Rhetoric: Expect the Schumer's & Pelosi's, Kerry's & Murtha's Rangel's of the party to continuously run their mouths at this out rage or that - more so than they are currently doing.

After two years of this, Americans will be fed up & vote them out of power. That's the good news.

Kerry slammed the troops during the Vietnam War, calling them rapists & murderers. He continues that tradition of slamming our soldiers. When the effluvia hit the fan over his remarks, he tried to play words games, claiming he was directing his remarks at Bush. Yeah, right. He even says he supports our troops. Yeah, right.

Thank God that Kerry lost his bid for the Presidency. He is looking to run again. With the elitist disdain he has for the U.S. military, he will be lucky to win as dog-catcher.

Cops Sued For Not Knowing Spanish

An attorney for a Hispanic man who was allegedly knocked to the ground and kicked by a police officer is seeking over $1 million dollars for his client, arguing that the city's failure to teach law enforcement officers "fundamental Spanish" is the reason excessive force was used. A Dallas attorney argued in his filing that the city was negligent for not monitoring and training the unnamed officer Â specifically, for not training him to speak Spanish "in order to properly communicate with Spanish-speaking persons."

It's a joke, right? No, but it's a frivolous lawsuit that is going nowhere. However, there is a point behind it.

America is becoming more & more a multi-cultural,multi-linguistic society, thanks to rampant immigration both legal & illegal. Unlike the immigration waves of 1850 & the early 1900's,today's immigrants are not assimilating into American society. There is no impetus to learn English when government & private agencies cater to these immigrants in their own language.

We see it from a personal perspectivee. Someone walks into our office & is barely understandable when they say, "You speaka the Spanish"? When we say no, it is like their world is crushed. They don't understand why we don't speak Spanish - after all Spanish spoken in Mexico City, so why not here? It is the same with the Brazilians & Portuguese who walk into our office. And the Chinese - "Lu spleek China"? No we lon't.

We cannot imagine living in China & walking into a Chinese government office not knowing a word of Chinese. We would take someone with us who does speak Chinese. Not in the good ol' USA however. The USA is quickly becoming the new Tower of Babel. The thing is that the foreign speaking more or less expect that we speak their language. And why shouldn't they? We give driver tests on 50 languages although we have yet to see a Polish stop sign or Arabic Yield sign. We press 20 buttons on the phone for the correct language. Bi-lingual education in some schools is 70% of the student body. We are becoming enclaves of tongues. What helps unite a country is a common language. We are not as united as we once were.

There is no demand that the foreign-speaking learn English. Instead, we cater to them in their language. And for the foreign-speaking criminals among us, that means you will be taken down like a dog because the police rightfully no speaka the Spanish.

The greater issue is the massive invasion of immigrants to the USA. We cannot slowly absorb them or hope for any chance at assimilation, whether they want it or not. The numbers are too great. With an estimated 12-20 million illegals in the country the problem is only exacerbated.

Which brings up another issue - loyalty & a sense of belonging to American society. But that is for another post.

Turning A Page In Rep. Foley's Life

Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fl) has resigned after it was disclosed that he had inappropiate e-mail & IM contact with House of Representative Pages. We understand that some of the e-mails or IM's were sexually explicit. The irony, or perhaps the cover for Foley, was that he served on the Missing & Exploited Children Committee.

Foley's conduct was wholly inexcusable & intolerable. If he wanted to communicate with a House Page he could do so in an honorable & respectful manner. But Foley wasn't looking to have a friendship - he is a predator of children. A pedophile. We can only assume that because of his position as a Congressman, he was prevented from carrying out his pedophile dreams & only lived them out vicariously through e-mails & IM's.

At least he did the right thing & resigned, unlike a couple of Democrats who in the same position went on to serve & get re-elected. But naturally the Dems forget about that while they use Foley's misadventure to bash the Republican Party just before the elections. And thanks to Foley, the Republicans may just suffer in those elections.

Foley is now playing the victim, claiming he is an alcohol abuser & that he himself was abused by a clergy member as a child. It is bullshit. He has not yet owned up to his predelictions & blames it all on a supposed alcohol & abuse problem as a child.

We don't yet know what Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert knew & when he knew it about Foley. But we have to be beyond the days of coverups & the good old boy network to hide egregious problems like Foley's. Let the chips fall where they may. There must be zero tolerance for the type of actions that Foley committed. The Foleys of the world are playing with children's lives just so they can activate their gonads. They need to be indentied & disgraced as soon as they can be. And parents need to pay more attention to what their children do on the internet.

One year ago today September 28, 2005, Airman 1st Class Elizabeth Jacobson was providing convoy security near Camp Bucca, Iraq, when the vehicle she was riding in was hit by an improvised explosive device. She had volunteered for the extremely dangerous job of convoy escort. Airman First Class Jacobson was the first female Airman killed in the line of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She was 21 when she died. Her life before & after her enlistment & her citations are at this site Elizabeth N. Jacobson Online Memorial.

Sgt. 1st Class Merideth Howard, at 52, is the oldest female soldier to be killed in action. She was stationed in Afghanastan as a turret gunner. An article about her with her picture is here.

We mourn the loss of every military member, male or female, but something about a woman dying in combat brings the war & the feelings closer to home for us. Rest in peace, dear ones.

The panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid. Members will be security vetted and will have to promise not to reveal any intelligence they are shown. In a raid, when acting on a tip, police shot & killed a man, but no bomb was found.

Azad Ali, chairman of the MSF, said: "The major concern that came to us from Muslims was that the intelligence was flawed Â the raid was on assumption and nothing else. This will allow independent scrutiny of intelligence."

This is pure British insanity. They are willing to compromise their investigations for the sake of political correctness & "sensitivity" to Muslim concerns. So this Muslim panel gets to input on the intelligence info the police put before them. But not to worry about it leaking to the bad guys, because they will have to promise not to reveal any intelligence they are shown, wink, wink. Yeah, right. Half the Muslim community is in league with the Islamo-fascists in one form or another.

We are sick of concerns about what the Muslims think. If they don't like police investigations that target Muslim suspects then let them go back to their "democratic" countries. They'll quickly find out how much input they get to make with their own regimes.

Australian 'crocodile hunter' Steve Irwin killed by stingray

SYDNEY (AFP) - World-renowned "crocodile hunter" and television environmentalist Steve Irwin has been killed after being stung in the chest by a stingray off northeastern Australia, police said.

The iconic Irwin, 44, known for his enthusiastic handling of even the deadliest of wildlife, was killed when a stingray barb punctured his chest during the filming and underwater documentary off the coast of the state of Queensland.

This weekend in Chicago illegal alien advocates will again demonstrate for their "rights", as they did in May. This time they will have the support of Miller Brewing Company.

Miller Brewing has paid more than $30,000 for a planning convention, materials and newspaper ads publicizing the event.

The great American brewer has decided to support illegal immigration & amnesty. Of course, they are in it for the Hispanic/Latino customers they hope to draw. But there are more things important than bottom line profits - like supporting the laws of this country - which illegal aliens by definition have not. The protest march advertisements will include the Miller logo.

Matthew Romero, the company's local market development manager, said he wasn't worried that some opponents of illegal immigration would be upset at the company's support of "the free movement of people, labor, goods and services." Right - support illegal movement of people, Miller. This is the same company who supported a strong anti-illegal bill in Congress a few months ago until they caught hell with the illegal alien crowd. Hypocrisy, thy name is Miller Brewing.

What,Ya Wanna Live Forever?

Good morning, class.

"Good morning, sir."

Today we are going to talk about death & neat things like that. Some movie out there had this line, "What, ya wanna live forever?" A guy was facing danger & that was the answer. It brings up an interesting question? Do you want to live forever? If not, when's a good time to die? Yes, Tommy?

"I want to live forever."

Why would you want that?

"So I wouldn't be dead."

Astute answer, Tommy, but what would you do with all that time?

"Umm, play I guess. Till I got bored."

Now you're getting closer to the truth Tommy. Here's the thing, class - living just for the sake of living is not...well, living. Living forever is a long time. There are many things to consider. For instance, do you want to continue aging? At age 400 you'll probably not be very attractive to Mary sitting next to you, Tommy. If aging comes with living forever - well you will eventually become very, very feeble. You'll probably spend living forever in a hospital bed.

But let's say the aging can be stopped & you stay forever 20 or whatever age you pick. Sounds like fun. But there are consequences. As the years go by you would see family members & friends begin to age. They would reach 80 while you're still 20. In time, each one would die off. You would be left alone or would need to make new friends, start a new family. But the same thing would happen to them - they would die off. Each succeeding family & friends would age & die off. Then there are the many husbands or wives you may have, watching them die off. The same with your children. The infinite relationships you'll go through. Doesn't sound too exciting to me.

Then there's the boredom factor. How would you spend the next 1,000 years? One thing is sure - you'd go through a lot of jobs. You could master every subject under the sun, or at least become very knowledgeable in them. You could learn oil painting & become quite good at it. But you're going to spend 30,000 years painting? That's a lot of canvas! For any subject, how long are you going to pursue it? Remember, you are living for ever.

Probably around your 500th birthday you'll be pacing the room saying, "What to do, what to do?"

Living forever or for a very long time can indeed get boring.

Let's consider a normal human life span, say up to, oh, 100 years. You'll hear an 85 year old man say he wants to live to 100. Why? It is only 15 years. He may not be in the best of health. Kinda late for a second career, too. What difference does it make, realistically, if he dies at 85 or 100? For that matter, what difference does it make if someone dies at 50 or 70? It is only 20 very short years. Look back at your last 20 years. Kinda flew, huh? If you had been dead those 20 years, what of it? You wouldn't have 20 years of work or that vacation to Greece or the 37 movies you've seen, or the 4 weddings you went to. So what?

The only reason to stay alive is maybe for family - emotionally or financially. Other than that, anything you do until you die is busy time. Something to keep you occupied until you do in fact die.

Take a walk in a nursing home. The feeble, crippled, the sick, lying all day in bed. There is no quality of life. Why go on? For what?

Most of us will leave no lasting legacy to mankind, no book or song or poem or act or notoriety. Work, spaghetti for supper, tv, bowling night & back to work the next day. The only real legacy may be off-spring. Other than that, we will have been born in obscurity & have died in obscurity.

Then there are the countless millions throughout the world suffering in misery or poverty or sickness for most or all of their lives. Quality of live? They are in a perpetual nursing home from the day they were born.

There are only 2 things to look forward to in life. One is the hope of a better afterlife. The other is selfish - doing things that make you feel good or make you happy or bring on achievement until you die.

For those with no thought of an afterlife, the second reason is the only reason to go on, although we could add the corollary that the fear of death in many outweighs the misery they live.

We can only conclude that we had no choice being placed of this Earth & we have no choice in wanting to remain forever. For those who feel the need to abbreviate their stay, it is perfectly okay. For those who wish they could live forever or for at least a very long time, time can bring tediousness. Better to live the best you can with the time you have & share that time with family & friends & be the best you can be. Life we have learned is cruelly unfair to many. Whether religious or not, the expression "There, but for the Grace of God go I" should be a daily wake-up call & a reminder that the luck of the draw puts one in a more or less enviable position over another. But in the end, the Great Equalizer...well, equalizes.

There's the bell, class. Tomorrow we talk about a neato thing - gruesome accidents.

Psychopaths All

The on-going investigation into the terror plot in London, which was to be directed against at least 10 airlines, has revealed that the terrorists planned to use a baby in their plans.

We think it is time for everyone to recognize that these terrorists are not terrorists per se. They are psychopaths. Terrorism is their release valve. They are not just using terrorism to further their cause. As bad as their terror plots against innocents are, they go beyond that. They go beyond the pale of using terrorism to further their cause. They have a blood-lust, a thirst for committing the most outrageous acts against anyone who gets in their way. They have no qualms about killing a baby. They have no qualms with beheadings, unspeakable tortures & savage butchery. They are sub-human in their mindset.

The Middle East is replete with psychopaths. The Arabs are replete with psychopaths. Islam is replete with psychopaths. There will always be a yearly crop of new psychopaths emerging to replace the ones who blew themselves up, were killed or moved to America to become a McDonald's manager.

The mercifull thing to do would be to nuke the Middle East, but that is unrealistic. The best we can do is kill more of them then they can procreate in the on-going battle on the war on terrorism - better named the war on psychopaths.

It is outrageous indeed that the likes of Ted Kennedy, John Murtha & the other ilk in the Democrat Party, as well as most of the liberal media liken Guantanamo to a Gulag. They voice no outrage at the murderous psychopaths in the Middle East where the real Gulag is not just a base, but covers the entire area.

It must be the falafels that is spawning these pyschopaths. Either that or their flawed religion.

What The Hell Is Wrong With You People?

As the below post indicates, most terrorists seem to be Muslims. They are the ones doing the bombings, the suicide attacks, the butchering, the slaughtering of innocents throughout the world. Muslims claim that Islam is the religion of peace. It could better be described as the religion of pieces, as in pieces of body parts from the terror that Muslims have wrought on people.

This post is addressed to Muslims.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Huh? What the hell is wrong with Islam? You claim it is the religion of peace, yet it is the least peaceful of any religion I know of. And don't throw out that worn out equivalency about Christianity's terrors 1,000 years ago. That was then.

What is it about Islam that depending on how you interpret it you are either a paragon of virtue & peace or you are a self-righteous, hate-filled butcher out to avenge Allah? Every religion has its extremists & fanatics, yet no where near the number & no where near the level of violence that Islam has bred. Outside of Islam it is unheard of.

Is Islam flawed, that it can allow two diametrically opposed viewpoints to coexist under its teachings? And if the Islamo-terrorists are misinterpreting the Quran, why then are soo many misinterpreting it? And why are there so many Muslim supporters of these terrorists & butchers? There are even disagreements between Islams' differing sects that periodically lead to murders & other violence.

So what is it about Islam that causes this? Do not play the victim & blame Western civilization or the Crusades or Israel or any other comfortable crutch. For too long Muslims have played the blame game & failed to look inward at their own religion, their own cultures & societies, for the cause.

If Islam has been high-jacked by radicals, there are a lot of them doing the high-jacking. Why is that so? And what is it about these people that brings them to their level of savagery & butchering, all under the name of Allah?. It is more than just extremists, it is more than just radicals - these ilk are psychopaths straight out of a psychology book. Why have so many embraced Islam? Or rather, why has Islam embraced them?

Why do millions of Muslims over the world riot & burn streets over publishing of a cartoon of Mohammed or Allah, yet Muslim papers can print the most outrageous anti-Semitic or anti-Christian slurs with neary a protest from Muslims. And why is it that the Jews or Christians seem to maintain their composure about these slurs & fail to riot like Muslims do? What is it about Muslims?

Why is it that Muslims can get extreme about a cartoon, yet sound no condemnation for fellow Muslims who blow up Spanish trains or bomb London or bomb Indonesian hotels or slaughter Russian school children? Why is there collective silence about these atrocities yet over-the-top reaction to a cartoon with the resultant riots & deaths that follow?

If Islam has been "high-jacked" by the extremists, then where are the moderate Muslims to stop it? Where are their voices? We may get small, token condemnations or platitudes from them, but that is all. Why are the moderate Muslims not fighting to take back their religion if it has indeed been high-jacked by the whackos. The majority of Muslims are silent. And silence is acquiescence. Moderate Muslims are doing absolutely nothing effectively to take back their religion. Why is that so? Fear? There should be far more moderates than extremists, if we are to believe Islam is the religion of peace. Do you not care? So threatened an Israeli General, if 2 Israeli soldiers who were kidnapped by the terrorist group Hezbollah based in Lebanon were not returned.

Hezbollah militants crossed into Israel from Lebanon & attacked Israeli forces, resulting in the death of 7 Israeli soldiers & the kidnapping of 2. Hezbollah announced that the 2 would only be returned in a prisoner exchange. Israel has entered southern Lebanon & is attacking Hezbollah positions. Israel is still forcing the issue in Gaza after one of its soldiers was kidnapped by the terrorist group Hamas.

Lebanon has done nothing to rein in Hezbollah. In fact, a Hezbollah leader is in its Cabinet. Meanwhile,Palestinians in the streets celebrated the kidnapping with gunfire & firecrackers.

It is time for Israel to drop all pretense of negotiating a peace with terrorists. You cannot negotiate in good faith with Arab terrorists. The Palestinian people have reduced themselves to murderers & terrorists. It was they after all who elected the terrorist Hamas group into power. The Palestinian people do not want peace - they want Israel destroyed. Israel unilaterally left Gaza. The Palestinians had their chance to build a nation-state when that happened. Instead of improving the conditions in Gaza, they prefer to attack Israel. They are now nothing more than pigs who deserve slaughter in return. They will get what they sowed. In spades.

Israel has gotten nowhere with the UN, with negotiating with the Palestinians. Arafat was given 90% of what he wanted, by the Israelis. He turned it down. Now its time to kill all the bastards.

We hope that Israel does in fact turn back the clock in Lebanon by 20 yrs if their soldiers are not returned. We hope the pathetic excuse of the Palestinian territory is similarly turned back - although it is already 50 yrs back due to the corruption of the Palestinian leaders.

We hope Syria, the sponsor of Hamas & Hezbollah, is likewise reduced to rubble.

Flag Burning

The Senate voted down, by one vote, a Constitutional amendment to ban burning of the American flag. We believe this was the right decision.

There is the greater issue of freedom of speech involved here. If some one's expression of that free speech is to burn the American flag, then let it burn. A burnt American flag is not going to bring down the empire, nor is it going to threaten our national security.

We think the real issue involved here for those who want a ban on flag burning is...insult. How dare they do that to the land I love. When we see someone burn the flag we consider them unpatriotic, though some of those involved are not American & could give a hoot about patriotism. We become insulted that someone would think that little of the symbol that America stands for. So what?

Someone calls your mother a ho. You become outraged, insulted. So what? Your mother is not a ho, you know that. Let it slide. Calling your mother a ho or burning the American flag is a way of getting your goat. Don't give in to it.

At the end of the day, America is still the great country it is. A burnt flag means nothing against that. And an America that allows the freedom for someone to burn it's symbol shows the flag-burner & the world, just how great America really is.

The New York Times recently published an article disclosing a highly classified Terrorist Finance Tracking Program, an on-going & successful effort to map terrorist networks through the use of financial data. As usual, the Times cited anonymous persons, aka criminal leakers, as the source.

We won't go into the details of the program, nor cite the Times' lame excuse for revealing it. Suffice it to say that many officials in the government pleaded with the Times not to reveal the program. The Times did so anyway.

This is far from the first time that the Times has revealed classified information. They do it to hurt President Bush - who they have much disdain for. The Times cares not about a successful effort against terrorists, they care not about the American people's safety, nor do they care that American soldiers might die because of the Times' revelations. They have a pathologic hatred for Bush & that is their only guideline.

It is time that the Bush Administration pursue criminal charges against the likes of Times reporters & editors who reveal classified information.

Hurricane Aid For Her-a-Change Aid

Bogus Hurricane Aid May Top $1.4 Billion

As much as $1.4 billion in Hurricanes Katrina & Rita aid to victims was spent fraudulently, including a sex change operation, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The GAO concluded that as much as 16 percent of the billions of dollars in FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)help to individuals after the two hurricanes was unwarranted.

FEMA handed out debit cards to those claiming to be victims of the hurricanes. But like the typical nightmare Federal bureaucracy, FEMA didn't bother checking on the validity of those claims for aid. GAO provided lawmakers with a copy of a $2,358 U.S. Treasury check for rental assistance that an undercover agent got using a bogus address. The money was paid even after FEMA learned from its inspector that the undercover applicant did not live at the address. Among the items purchased with the cards:

. a sex change operation.

· an all-inclusive, one-week Caribbean vacation in the Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic.

· five season tickets to New Orleans Saints professional football games.

· adult erotica products in Houston and "Girls Gone Wild" videos in Santa Monica, Calif.

· Dom Perignon champagne and other alcoholic beverages in San Antonio.

· a divorce lawyer's services in Houston.

Prison inmates, a supposed victim who used a New Orleans cemetery for a home address, and a person who spent 70 days at a Hawaiian hotel all were able to wrongly get taxpayer help.

GAO said it found people lodged in hotels often were paid twice, since FEMA gave them individual rental assistance and paid hotels directly. FEMA paid California hotels $8,000 to house one individual - the same person who received three rental assistance payments for both disasters.

FEMA also could not establish that 750 debit cards worth $1.5 million even went to Katrina victims, the auditors said.

FEMA paid millions of dollars to more than 1,000 registrants who used names and Social Security numbers belonging to state and federal prisoners for expedited housing assistance. The inmates were in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida.

FEMA made about $5.3 million in payments to registrants who provided a post office box as their damaged residence, including one who got $2,748 for listing an Alabama post office box as the damaged property.

GAO told of an individual who used 13 different Social Security numbers - including the person's own - to receive $139,000 in payments on 13 separate registrations for aid. All the payments were sent to a single address.

"Our forensic audit and investigative work showed that improper and potentially fraudulent payments occurred mainly because FEMA did not validate the identity of the registrant, the physical location of the damaged address, and ownership and occupancy of all registrants at the time of registration," GAO officials said.

In response, a FEMA spokesman had the gall to state, "Even as we put victims first, we take very seriously our responsibility to be outstanding stewards of taxpayer dollars, and we are careful to make sure that funds are distributed appropriately."

Thank you Federal government for wasting tax-payer dollars. $1.4 billion could have gone a long way to help the homeless, the sick, & children. Betcha there will no effort to recollect the money stolen, nor will there be any prosecutions, nor will there be any firings at FEMA of the idiots who failed to watchdog where the money was going. In a bureaucracy there is either collective guilt or no guilt.

This brings to mind the Senate plan to legalize 12 million illegal aliens in the country. The bureaucracy needed to administer, investigate & enforce this will be ponderous indeed. The billions upon billions of dollars that will be stolen from that agency would be better used to provide brain changes for all the idiot Federal employees who allow this fraud to happen.

Military Deaths In Iraq - A Perspective

The mainstream media seems overly focused on military deaths in Iraq. They appear to go beyond just reporting the deaths & use it as a way of discrediting President Bush - how wrong the war was & lookey at what the results are of his decision to go to war. In comparison, the following lists military deaths due to accidents, in peace time, from 1980 - 1982, a comparable 3 year period with the 3 years of military deaths in Iraq since 2003:

A Nebraska judge gave a convicted sex offender 10 years probation rather then the 10 years prison he was facing because the judge said he was too short to survive in prison. The convict, at 5' 1", was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12 year old over a period of months. Prison officials dispute the notion that he is too short & stated that they have prisoners even shorter.

We think the judge, a female by the way, is an idiot. So now all short bank robbers, short car thieves & short Congressmen will escape prison. Nice message the idiot judge sends out.

Item: School Removes "In God We Trust" From Yearbook Cover

Liberty Elementary School in Colleyville, Texas had their yearbook printed up. An enlarged Liberty nickel was printed on the cover, as it had the school's name on it. However...however, the jackass Principal, Janet Travis, wanted "to avoid offending students of different religions", although presumably different religions have their God also. So in her corrupt logic, she had the words "In God We Trust", which is on the coin, removed. The book came with a sticker that gave students the choice of putting the phrase back on the nickel.

Janet Travis thinks she is a so-called educator. She is really part of the minion who kiss butt to the politically-correct crowd, those who detest things American & Christian. Stickers?!! Item: US Court Okays Teaching Islam In Schools, But Not Christianity

Investor's Business Daily has this article about the 9th Circuit Court allowing the indoctrination of school children in the ways of Islam. This is the same court that ruled the Pledge of Allegiance was unconstitutional. You don't have to be a school administrator to be an anti-Christian jackass. As has been proven time & again, so-called judges are up to the challenge of being nominee for Jerk Judge of the Year. What follows is the school course that the court said was okay. Imagine if you replaced that with a similar Christian course? The ACLU would be in court faster than Superman. Speaking of which...where is the ACLU on this one? reciting aloud Muslim prayers that begin with "In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful . . . ."
Memorizing the Muslim profession of faith: "Allah is the only true God and Muhammad is his messenger."
Chanting "Praise be to Allah" in response to teacher prompts.
Professing as "true" the Muslim belief that "The Holy Quran is God's word."
Giving up candy and TV to demonstrate Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.
Designing prayer rugs, taking an Arabic name and essentially "becoming a Muslim" for two full weeks.
Parents of seventh-graders, who after 9-11 were taught the pro-Islamic lessons as part of California's world history curriculum, sued under the First Amendment ban on religious establishment. They argued, reasonably, that the government was promoting Islam.
But a federal judge appointed by President Clinton told them in so many words to get over it, that the state was merely teaching kids about another "culture."

Item: Students Defy Court Ban On Prayer At Graduation

The senior class of Russell County High, a southern Kentucky high school, gave their response Friday night to a federal judge's order banning prayer at commencement. About 200 seniors stood during the principal's opening remarks and began reciting the Lord's Prayer, prompting a standing ovation from a standing-room only crowd at the Russell County High School gymnasium. The thunderous applause drowned out the last part of the prayer.

The revival like atmosphere continued when senior Megan Chapman said in her opening remarks that God had guided her since childhood. Chapman was interrupted repeatedly by the cheering crowd as she urged her classmates to trust in God as they go through life. The challenge made the graduation even better because it unified the senior class, Chapman said. "It made the whole senior class come together as one and I think that's the best way to go out", said Chapman, who plans to attend the University of the Cumberlands with her twin sister Megan.

The graduation took place about 12 hours after a federal judge blocked the inclusion of prayer as part of Russell County High School's graduation ceremonies.

Bravo! A cheer for the students who stuck it to a stupid, stupid judge. And he can't do jack about it.

It should be noted that the ACLU (who else?) filed the action on behalf of one student who complained. However, even the ACLU lawyer agreed that as long as it was not state sanctioned, he saw no problem with the student prayer. The clueless judge however exceeded that with his own idiotic interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling.

She opened her legs...sorry...world tour with a concert in LA - Los Angles for the geographically challenged - which is probably most of her audience.

In keeping with the fine, fine, super fine classy lady that she is, she dazzled the audience with her S&M costume & whip while her bare-breasted male dancers trotted around in their ball gags.
Doesn't get better. But yes it does in this case. She donned a crown of thorns and suspended herself from a giant mirrored cross, crucifixion-style to deliver the ballad "Live to Tell." Video screens showed images of third-world poverty and reeled off grim statistics.

The politically astute icon that she is had a video montage juxtapose images of Bush, members of his administration and British Prime Minister Tony Blair with footage of Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden, and Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe. Midway through the new song "I Love New York," she deviated from the script and made a crude reference to Bush and oral sex.

She is expected to make $200 million from the tour.

What can we say. We are just awed at her classy showmanship, her clever use of foul language, her positive spin on S&M, her mockery of the Crucifixion, her insightful political commentary. We are certain that she will give a large, large sum of that $200 mil to the poor in the third world countries whose images she splashed across the stage. Then again, maybe not - self-inflated "stars" like her tend to mouth off, but keep the dough, baby.

A Day Without Immigrants - Illegals En Mass In Protest For Rights

Today was the Great American Boycott, the "Day Without Immigrants" as it's organizers whimsically called it - illegal alien workers not showing up for their jobs, not buying American products , their children not going to school. They wanted to show Americans that we can't live without them - Na-na-na-na-na. So there. We'll show those Gringos.

Hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens & their advocates staged protests across the country to demand their "rights". We can only assume that by "rights" they mean blanket amnesty, which translates into immediate, unqualified legal status or American citizenship for all 11 - 20 million illegals in this country.

They carried mostly American flags this time, because the last series of protests didn't go over too well with Americans when these illegals marched with mostly Mexican flags with an in-your-face attitude. They suddenly love America & its flag. Don't bet on it. They also carried signs: "stop the discrimination", "end racism", "we demand human rights", "we want our rights", blah, blah, blah.

Okay - let's try to sort this out. Rights? What rights? These illegals have zero, zip, nada rights, in the sense that American citizens & legal immigrants have. These illegals broke US law by illegally crossing the border or overstaying their visas. By current law they are subject to fines, imprisonment & deportation. It is unlawful for businesses to hire them.
Many illegals use false i.d.'s such as driver licenses, social security cards, green cards, identity theft, you name it. And they often use them to get benefits fraudulently. So now they compound their initial crime with more criminal activity. Hmmm - the more crimes they commit, the more "rights" they demand. Absurdville at its best.

How's this for their "rights" - THE ONLY RIGHTS THEY DESERVE ARE MIRANDA WARNING RIGHTS, like in the right to remain silent, the right to a lawyer.

Seriously folks, this is not a "rights" issue, although illegal alien advocates try to paint the issue with the broad stroke of the civil rights movement of the '60's & of Martin Luther King, or liken themselves to slaves or indentured servants who have been terribly abused & denied "human rights" as their placards pronounce. Having broken US law, they now seem to think they are entitled to non-existent rights that they have been manifestly & unfairly denied. Wrongo - like the squatter who breaks into your house, remains in the basement for a period of time & then demands the "right" to become a family member. The protesters also are fond of using the "racism" word because Americans have the gall to want control of the borders. But the racism card is just that - a means of intimidation. If anything, those protesters who chant La Raza (The Race) as a rallying cry are more inclined to toward racism.

Let us not forget that they demand immediate amnesty & permanent residency status while those who play by the rules spend years & lawyers fees trying to get it. They don't care about those folks. These protesters got into the country illegally & now want a free & immediate pass.

In 1986 the USA gave 3 million illegals legal status. Horrible mistake. It only encouraged others to follow over the border hoping for the same thing. So now we give these 11-20 million legal status & what do you thinks happens next? A new wave of illegals come into the country looking for their shot at amnesty. Amnesty is unworkable. There will never be an end to it. If they want legal status in this country, let them go back to their country & apply for legal entry like so many millions of others have done.

Reading, Writing & Role-Reversal - Schools Are A Drag

In our travels through the internet we came across a phenomenon that we were totally unaware of - crossdressing days at public & private schools. We are talking elementary, middle & high schools.

These events go by various names - Drag Day, Spirit Day, CrossDressing Day, Opposite-Sex Day & the most creative being Wear A Skirt On Wednesday Day.

As you can see in the pics below, invariably the crossdressing is done by the boys - afterall, how can a girl effectively crossdress as a boy in the manner that a boy can do so as a girl.

We have to ask ourselves what the school administrators are thinking when they not only approve, but initiate such events. Is it so boys can get more in touch with their feminine side? Do they think that the opposite sexes will better understand each other if they walk a day in the other's shoes? Or do some of these administrators have some perverse notion to bring the male sex to heel ( pun intended) through the subtle use of humiliation guised as "fun"? Or are they pushing a homosexual agenda? Are they sending a message that it's ok to dress as the opposite sex, not just that day, but any day?

Naturally, kids being kids, we are sure some think it innocent fun & have a grand time. And we are sure some of the parents think so to. Some parents have objected & under pressure some school districts have dropped these "fun" days in lieu of camouflage day, etc. School administrators defend it as just having fun. They should try having a carnival or party if they want the kids to have "fun".

We personally find these "days" offensive, tacky & not "fun". We think it not the business of schools to stage such events. Save the crossdressing for Halloween or in the home. Schools should not sanction such events, much less encourage them. Drop the social engineering agendas, especially using tax-payer dollars. Their energies should be directed toward the other "R's" - reading & 'rithmetic.

So Iran announced that it has enriched uranium - a crucial first step toward making nuclear weapons. They claim their nuclear ambitions are for the peaceful use of its energy. In a faux pas, they meant to say pieceful, as in pieceful of Jews, Tel Aviv, etc., after they drop a nuclear weapon on Israel.

The Iran "President", Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (notice the word 'mad' in his name) is, well...mad, as in a hatter. He is also a rabid Islamofascist. We can not allow his finger on an Islamic nuclear weapon.

Iran is determined to go on with development of a nuclear bomb. We seriously doubt that it will be persuaded to give up its program by the U.N. So we have one of two choices - we either sit & watch them develop a bomb or we attack their facilities, with or without U.N. blessings.

We believe the potential use of a nuclear weapon or just the intimidation factor of such a weapon in the hands of crazies is too dangerous to Israel, the Mid-East & future stability of the area. We are also concerned that Iran will pass on such a weapon to other terrorists to attack the Great Satan.

There is no option - Iran must be attacked for the future security of the United States & Israel. We believe it will happen if Iran does not stop its program & it will happen after the lengthy diplomatic games are exhausted. We can hear the moral equivalists, the misleading media & the libnuts screaming now.

The Race Card Rather Than Responsibility

So-called Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) has decided to play the race card rather than take responsibility for an incident that happened the other day when she refused to go through a metal detector asMcKinney entered the Longworth House Office Building.

When she tried to bypass a metal detector, the six-term congresswoman -- who was not wearing the lapel pin that enables members of Congress to enter and exit the building freely -- was stopped by an officer with the Capitol Police. The officer reportedly put his hand on McKinney's arm to get her attention, and she reacted by striking him in the chest. There were reports that she may be charged & arrested, but don't count on it - other reports say that pressure is being put on the Capitol Police to squash it.

"I was urgently trying to get to an important meeting on time to fulfill my obligations to my constituents," McKinney said later. "Unfortunately, the police officer did not recognize me as a member of Congress, and a confrontation ensued. She also claimed, the incident was "instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black Congresswoman."

James W. Myart, Jr., claimed his client was "just a victim of being in Congress while black. "Congresswoman McKinney, in a hurry, was essentially chased and grabbed by the officer," Myart said. "She reacted instinctively in an effort to defend herself." Yeah, right.

Kinney has been known in the past as an idiot & a complete moron. Her being elected into Congress 6 times speaks volumes on the intelligence of her constituents.

It is sad indeed that she refuses to accept her responsibility in the matter. She reportedly never wears the pin that would identify her as a member of Congress. Her ego & arrogance presupposes that she is special & does not need to follow procedures like every other member of Congress nor of her constituents either.

Instead, like the typical black racist & clown she is, she plays the race card & portrays herself as the victim.

In these times of heightened security, it behooves her to set an example & follow procedures - either wear the damn pin or go through the metal detector. But no - arrogance has no limit with this buffoon. She is an appalling disgrace as a Representative - has been & always will be.

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid called President Bush "dangerously incompetent" on Wednesday. Reid criticized Bush's statement Tuesday that his successor in the White House would likely be responsible for deciding when U.S. troops leave Iraq. "To me it shows how dangerously incompetent he is," Reid said. Reid, known for idiotic statements in the past & showing a woeful lack of knowledge of issues, is dangerously stupid. He also has not the aplomb nor civility to treat a sitting President with respect, no matter what his disagreement with the President. Reid is a fine example of a Democrat leader reduced to absurdity.

Hillary Clinton, official hag of the Senate, spoke on the Senate debate regarding an illegal immigration bill. Quoth the smartest woman in the world, "It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures. This bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself." We find it appalling that the tainted Hillary of Whitewater days brings up Jesus for political points. She is obviously courting the Christian Right, or at least Chrisitans left, right, middle, sideways, up, down...well you get the picture. She'll have to wait for the Second Coming of you know who, to get their vote, no matter what she says. If she had any understanding of the Scriptures, as she claims, she would know that hers' is a ridiculous statement about Jesus to begin with. She may also have been less likely to be the corrupt, lying person that she is. By the way, in 2003 Hillary stated during a radio interview that she was "adamantly opposed to illegal immigrants." Jesus may have turned the other cheek, but Hillary turns on her other side - where ever the votes are. Guess she learned that from the Scriptures.

Finally, St. Paul, Minnesota, has banned the Easter Bunny. You heard it here, folks. A City Council secretary had put up a toy bunny, plastic eggs & the words "Happy Easter" in the lobby. St. Paul's human rights director, Tyrone Terrill, asked that the decorations be removed, saying they could be offensive to non-Christians. Uh-huh, yup, another politically correct idiot in government, another assault on the mainstay of our religious heritage. If it was a Muslim bunny or a gay bunny or a pagan bunny, odds are it would stay. Maybe removing Tyrone from not only the lobby, but from his job would be more appropriate.

Iraq War - 3nd Anniversary

It's been 3 years since the war in Iraq started. What have we accomplished, if anything?

1. We put the world on notice that the USA will strike, if need be.
2. We rid the Iraqis of a brutal dictator.
3. We freed 25 million Iraqis from the prison of Iraq.
4. They now worship freely, as they could not before.
5. They now have freedom of speech as they never had before.
6. They now have a vibrant press of varying opinion as they never had before.
7. They have had 3 free, democratic elections as they never had before.
8. They now have an infrastructure, long neglected by Saddam, which is being rebuilt, increasing power & bringing water to areas that never had it before.
9. Schools are being built & more children are being educated as never before.
10.Health facilities & vaccinations for children are increasing as never before.
11. The economy is growing as never before & Western products are finally reaching Iraqis.

Sure, there are negatives. What conflict is without one?
1. There are deaths & injuries, not only to our forces, but to innocent Iraqis.
2. There are the seemingly endless car bombings & killings.
3. There is still a lack of total or even partial security in some parts of Iraq.
4. There are the billions of dollars spent fighting the war & rebuilding the country.
5. There were the strategic mistakes & wrong decisions during & after the active conflict.

But overall, the situation is getting better, little by little. The number of US deaths is slowly dropping as are the number of terrorist bombings. More terrorists are being killed or captured. Large parts of Iraq are very peaceful - a point the media fails to take notice of.

Remember - the US is fighting not only the terrorists, but the foreign foot soldiers sent in or allowed in by Syria & Iran. They are fighting former Saddam loyalists & ex-Baathist Party members. They are fighting thousands of common criminals who Saddam released from prison when the war started.

The US military, as well as the Bush Administration, is also fighting the mainstream media, who have become in effect 5th columnists. The media from the 3rd day of the war was bemoaning the military's failings - the "stalled" offensive, when in fact the offensive was a quick & brilliant victory. The media, out of liberal bias or pure dislike of Bush, twisted & contorted events & played up events that went beyond the pale of what actually transpired. They failed to report the goods news or minimized it over the death & destruction that the media salivates for. They manipulated & managed the news to their advantage, rather then report it straight forward. The media in general has done a great disservice to the military & to the country. Scoundrels is the word that comes to mind.

Let's not forget the naysayers of Congress - especially those who voted for the war, who thought themselves that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, but who saw fit to play politics with American soldier's lives by thrashing the war, the military, making extreme statements & outright falsehoods about the events in Iraq. Reprehensible is the word that comes to mind.

The American public, easily swayed by what they perceive as straight shooting & reporting by the media, is becoming more & more discontent with the post-war events in Iraq. They need to take heart, to remember that we must be in this for the long haul. If we pull out of Iraq prematurely, the Saddamites & terrorists will grab power - then the real slaughter of Iraqis will begin. A signal will be sent to the terrorists of the world that America does not have the stomach for long conflict, nor the staying power required to get the job done.

There is no alternative - we must complete the job in Iraq until that country's government can get on it's feet & secure the country themselves. A free & unfettered citizenry in Iraq in the midst of Arab countries with dictatorships will be the legacy America leaves to the world.

We don't know why St. Patrick's Day is so big. We don't know the history of it either. We assume it started in Boston or New York City in the 19th century, owing to the large Irish populations in those cities back then.

We only found out late in our 30's that we have Irish in us. About a fifth. Which coincidentally fits in nicely with the Irish reputation for drinking. The family came over during the potato famine of the 1840's & 50's. It's a good thing the Irish were not vodka drinkers, I suppose.

Anyway, 1/5th of us salutes the rest of you with some old Irish sayings:

Federal Aid At Record Rate

A USA Today analysis reveals that since 2000 enrollment in 25 Federal aid programs such as health care, college aid & food stamps, has increased 17%. This is a record increase in the number of Americans receiving benefits.

The cost for these programs is $1.3 trillion dollars, up 22% since 2000 & accounts for more than half of Federal spending. Medicaid, the health care program for the poor, added 15 million beneficiaries over five years to become the nation's largest entitlement program.

At the same time, it was announced elsewhere that the National Debt is now $7 trillion - about $30,000 owed for each American.

The Federal government is out of control. Spending & entitlements are out of control. We are quickly becoming a Federal-dependent welfare state. The National Debt will only get worse - your children & grandchildren will bear the consequences of it.

Blame the Congress - they can't seem to stop spending your tax dollars on bloated entitlement programs & on pork barrel projects that have little resemblance to responsible tax-dollar spending. They refuse to even look at reduction of spending. It's Christmas every day of the year with these so-called representatives of the people.

Is it?? We came across this quote & began wondering about the wisdom of that statement. Is it really better to have loved & lost?

With love comes passion & feeling alive. All is right with the world, in most respects at least. With love comes excitement & sharing. With love comes joyousness. With love comes sense of worth & giving. All the postive emotions & explanations of love have filled countless books. But love is for the moment.

The emotions of losing a love, through any circumstance, are the antithesis of having one. A lost love is depression & sorrow. A lost love can be rage & hurt. A lost love is tears & pain. A lost love can be recrimination & hate. A lost love can be forever. Unless it's replaced with a new love.

For some, the pain of a lost love is assuaged by the fond memories of that love. For others, the joy of a love is overshadowed by the pain of losing it.

We guess it all depends on the intensity of the love - for every action, there is an equal & opposite reaction, to steal from a law of physics...& then some. It depends on the emotional make up of the person...the strong, the weak, the independent, the clinging, etc., etc., we guess.

Through personal experiences, we seem to side on never having loved.

South Dakota Bans Abortions

The Governor of South Dakota signed into law a bill banning almost all abortions - the exception being to save a women's life. Rape, incest, etc would not qualify for abortion procedures. The bill passed both houses of the South Dakota Legislature by a wide majority. The law takes effect in July. Doctors could get up to 5 years in prison for performing abortions.

Planned Parenthood & other abortion rights advocacy groups are having apoplexy & it is expected that an initiative will be placed on the ballot for Election Day to have voters rescind the new law. Meanwhile, it is expected that some judge somewhere will put a hold on the law. This will entail taking it to the Supreme Court.

What's surprising about the new law is that it is an in-your-face challenge to the Supreme Court ruling of 33 years ago - Roe vs Wade. Unlike other states which parsed their abortion laws to allow exceptions such as rape & incest, etc., the South Dakota law is not playing cute & trying to get around the Roe vs Wade ruling.

We have mixed feelings about the South Dakota law. We think abortions should be restricted - to a point. Though we agree that abortions for convenience sake should be banned, those women who are subjects of rape or incest are already victims & to further their anguish by compelling them to carry to term is wrong.

After the initial crime of rape or incest, if a woman is further devastated by a forced pregnancy, then where is the justice in that? We are not absolutists when it comes to abortion. And we understand the argument about a fetus being an innocent victim also. When there are two victims whose interests are diametrically opposite, the wisdom of Solomon may not even be sufficient.

Court: Military Recruiters On Campus Ok

The Supreme Court in a unanamous decision has ruled that colleges & universities cannot bar military recruiters from campuses. Some educational institutions had banned recruiters because of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays, claiming it was discriminatory. The court said that any institutions that banned recruiters were in violation of Federal law & were at risk of losing Federal funding. College funding by the government totals over $35 billion a year.

We applaud the court's decision. Colleges & universities are quick to ban the U.S. military from its campuses - witness the brouhaha of years past over ROTC on campuses. Considering that many educational institutions are flowing over the brim with liberal & outright radical professors, it should come as no surprise. They would sooner have a radical subversive as a speaker than a Marine officer. Yale University recently enrolled a former Taliban spokesman as a student, incredible as it may seem - & was glad to have him.

However, when it comes to taking taxpayer-funded dollars, colleges & universities seem to sell out their principles. Maybe they aren't so radical afterall. When it comes to the all-mighty dollar they tend to become Capitalists instead, though their Marxist professors still rant in their classrooms against Capitalism.

Port Security Or Poor Security?

The recent announcement that a United Arab Emirates government-owned company will have operational control of 6 U.S. ports has stirred up a hornets nest of protest. As well it should.

The UAE company, Dubai Ports World, acquired the British company that had the contract. As is want with most holding companies, there should be no expectation that the management of port operations will change - the same personnel & procedures should remain in place. The company is also obviously interested in its investment.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff defended the security review of the company. Chertoff said the government typically builds in "certain conditions or requirements that the company has to agree to make sure we address the national security concerns." The UAE is also working with the U.S. in its on-going fight against terrorists.

However, there are still valid concerns. The UAE was an operational base for the 911 highjackers & 2 of those highjackers were UAE citizens. The UAE is also a conduit for Al-Qaida money transfers. Additionally, Pakistan used the UAE to transit nuclear weapons equipment and technology to North Korea.

Some Congressmen are asking President Bush to end this contract. We agree. Too many foreign companies already own most of our port facilities, China being the most recent in California. We have no assurances from the UAE that they can prevent those who come into their company or those already there, from using the company's facilities to carry out terrorist attacks on our ports. Bribes, corruption & terrorist sympathizers are more apt to be found in a UAE company rather than General Motors.

Beyond all this is the unbelievable insensitivity of the Treasury Department's Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States which okayed the deal - add to this Homeland Secretary Chertoff & Sec. of State Rice, as well as others in the Administration who support the deal.

In this post 911 era, Americans are deeply sensitive & suspicious about any foreign control of U.S. assets, & most especially Arab control. Our ports are too important to trust them to the good faith of foreign companies.

It is time for the Administration to stop parceling out & internationalizing U.S. assets. President Bush has vowed to veto any legislation aimed at denying the UAE contract from happening. It is like the cat who swallowed the canary whole. The Administration may be satisfied with UAE control of the ports, but to the American people it just doesn't go down right.

School Editors Suspended for Cartoons

The editor-in-chief & opinions editor of the Daily Illini - a student-led newspaper serving the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - have been suspended for publication of 6 of the 12 cartoons that have recently spawned self-righteous indignation by crazed Muslims throughout the world. A task force has been established to investigate "the internal decision-making and communication" that led to the publishing of the cartoons, said the newspaper's publisher.

"I pretty much have an idea how this is going to run, and this is a thinly veiled attempt to remove me from my position," said editor Acton Gorton.

"The board and publisher reaffirm that final decisions about content in The Daily Illini rest with the editor in chief," Cory said in a written statement. "But the board and publisher also recognize that journalistic norms regarding professional behavior dictate that it is the editor's obligation to engage other student editors and student staff members in rigorous discussion and debate of sensitive content."

On Monday, the paper ran an editorial apologizing for Gorton's decision and called the move "a blatant abuse of power" by a "renegade editor who firmly believes that his will is also the will of the paper."

"Renegade editor"..."blatant abuse of power". Sounds like something straight out of Pravda, the official newspaper of the dearly departed Soviet Union. Amazing. This is a shaft job by the task force against the editors, pure & simple. What is it about Muslims that cause professionals in news publishing to freely & willingly give up their right of freedom of the press. They have no reluctance to print anti-Christian works or photos of Abu Ghraib prisoners or bloody messes of bodies in accidents or any number of other sensitive areas. But cartoons of Muhammed are forbidden. Most all newspapers in the country have refused to print the cartoons.

This is not sensitivity on the part of the newspapers. That's what they want you to believe. Instead, it is pure cowardice & kowtowing. The newspapers, as well as tv news, know that the world is saturated with crazy, irrational Muslims & they are intimidated by them - they fear them. For them, the papers give up their right of a free press. In the process they are denying their readers & viewers the opportunity to judge the cause of the Muslim "unrest".

Al Gore - The Ugly American

Al Gore (remember him?) spoke recently at an economic forum in Saudi Arabia. Well, you just know that wherever Al goes his mouth is sure to follow. And it did not fail him, again sadly. He told a mostly Saudi audience that the U.S. government committed terrible abuses against Arabs after 911 & that it had indiscriminately rounded up Arabs & held them in unforgivable conditions.

"Unfortunately there have been terrible abuses and it's wrong," Gore said. "I do want you to know that it does not represent the desires or wishes or feelings of the majority of the citizens of my country."

This wise old sage does not give any particulars - no names of abused Arabs, no circumstances or details of abuse, no examples of "unforgivable conditions" in which they were held.

If he knew of such cases, why didn't he use his mouth right after 911 to point out what these poor folks were going through? After all, it was his patriotic duty to unmask the abuses of the evil Bush administration against these peace-loving Arabs.

Well, Al-Gore has his agenda - not to mention the hefty speakers fee he gets from the conference.

Gore is a petty, bitter, has-been politician who borders on a neurotic obsession to trash Bush, & in doing so trashes the USA. The old adage that politics stops at the waters edge no longer applies to the likes of Gore. Or Jimmy Peanut-brain Carter. Carter has his own bitterness to deal with & releases it in speeches overseas that do as much damage to the credibility of this country as does Al-Gores' rants. Does Gore need to be reminded that 15 of the 19 highjackers of 911 were Saudi Arabian? Where are his rants about this? Where are his rants about the Saudi government being less then fully cooperative in fighting terrorism? Where are his rants about the oppressive Saudi government & their continuing support of radical Wahhabi religious schools? But Gore knows which side his bread is buttered on- speakers fees. It aso assuages his perpetual bitterness. Too bad it further alienates Arabs to America.

Gore is a traitor to this country - a deplorable example of a former Vice-President & American.

But he is not alone. He has plenty of company with the likes of Carter, Michael Moore & most of the Democrat leadership. Throw in elitist rags like The New York Times & other "America last" media & it's no wonder this country is so divided.

Cheney Accidentally Shoots Fellow Hunter - Coincidentally, White House Issues New Dem Strategy Plan

Vice President Dick Cheney, while in Texas hunting for quail, accidentally shot & wounded a companion hunter. When a covey of quail took flight, Cheney followed one bird & fired his rifle. Unbeknownst to him, one of the hunters accompanying Cheney stepped into the line of fire. The hunter was treated for minor facial & chest wounds.

At the same time, the White House has announced that President Bush has developed a new strategy to deal with the obstructionist Democrats in Congress. Details of the plan were not revealed, but it is known that Vice President Cheney will head up a new group which will deal with the Democratic leadership in a more realistic & effective manner than previously thought possible.

An anonymous source reports that the keystone to this new strategy will be to invite the Democratic leadership to a quail hunt with the Vice President, where good fellowship & reasonable persuasion on the part of Mr. Cheney will show the Dems the errors of their way.

These 3 paintings are from a published series called "Storefronts: Fond memories of growing up in my minister dad's east Baltimore church." The artist is Lloyd Marcus. Lloyd Marcus happens to be a black man. But that is not what is wrong about the pictures.

Deltona, Fla., an Orlando suburb, decided to celebrate Black History Month by including an art exhibit. Marcus heads the Deltona Art and Historical Center. He was asked by Deltona city officials to submit some of his works for display. The city's public relations representative chose three of his works.

However, Deltona's acting city manager, Roland Blossom, told the Daytona Beach News-Journal he could not tolerate a mingling of church and state, even if the only evidence is a partial Bible lying on a table and a church sign, as in the "3 AM" painting.

"I saw the word 'Jesus' and the Holy Bible just sort of thrown in the painting," Blossom told the News-Journal. "What that forces anybody to do because this display is in a government building, they think this government is advocating in favor of one religion over another." "Just sort of thrown in" - the idiot is an art critic now. He's probably a white liberal who just knows what's best for blacks & religion.

"This is black history month," Marcus said. "I was raised in a storefront church in Baltimore, Maryland, and these are simply paintings from my childhood. I didn't paint them with the intention of selling religion. After all, they came to me. They [Deltona city officials] picked them on Friday and then they called me on Monday and said they had to take two of them down because of religious content. Muslims burned the embassy of Denmark & of Norway in Syria, while their brethren in Europe & England staged all sorts of protests. The object of their wrath? This - a cartoon in a Danish newspaper - the prophet Muhammed with a lit bomb as a turban.

Say cheese, Muhammed

Islam does not allow for any visual image, no icon, of this Muhammed dude, whether the depiction is complimentary or not, though how they purport to know what Allah looks like is puzzling. Kinda like Santa Claus - anyone seen the real guy?

Further enraging these peaceful Muslims, more newspapers in Europe published the cartoon as a show of support for the Danish newspaper. It's called freedom of the press, we suppose. And that's the issue. When does freedom of the press conflict with the beliefs of a religion & to what extent must a free press curtail its freedom in order to appease a religion, or any group for that matter?

We believe that the press should be allowed great laxity when it comes to these matters. If a newspaper prints something that someone thinks outrageous, well that's what the slander & libel law suits are about. However, sensitivity is in the eye of the beholder & if someone or some group does not file suit, there is always the public relations backlash against that paper to be relied on.

But you do not burn down an embassy. Nor do you protest with threatening, even more odious forms of free speech like the delightful protesters below.

Geesh - smile, for Allah's sake

When Christians are insulted with "Piss on Christ" art or with artistic jars of urine immersing a crucifix, they do not burn an embassy, nor do they threaten beheadings or massacres. The best they do is complain to American newspapers who support such artwork as freedom of speech - the same newspapers who now editorialize against Danish press insensitivity to Muslim beliefs.

Ironic - she's not allowed personal freedom in Islam

Something is terribly wrong with the Muslim psyche. These peace-loving followers of the peaceful religion of Islam are either frauds or fanatics. In either case, they are becoming a growing danger to the more sane world at large. Consider the horror they inflict upon innocent people - Muslim or not, in the name of Allah. Consider the peace-loving Palestinians - cheering when 911 happened & voting into office a murderous terrorist organization to represent them to the world. Or consider the lunatic so-called President of Iran & the drive to produce a nuclear weapon - and to think the world was worried when Reagan had his finger on the button.

Islam must certainly be flawed for it to give birth to such pychopaths as now represents it. Be prepared for further conflict with this ilk.

Hamastan - The Newest Country

Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist organization known for its radical, fundamentalist adherence to Islam, has won a surprising upset victory in the recent Palestinian elections. The opposition Fatah Party which had been in power, as well as the rest of the world, was shocked by Hamas' clear majority win.

This does not bode well for any hopes of an Israeli/Palestinian peace agreeement. Hamas is intractable in its calls for the destruction of Israel - they don't even recognize Israel as a state.

Only one of two things will come out of the Hamas victory. Either Hamas, in power now, will further extend its aggression & terror against Israel while enforcing further radical Islamic policy on its own Palestinian people, or Hamas will find itself suddenly in the ironic position of moderation as a necessity of retaining the power they have now. The Fatah Party is no friend to Hamas & we expect armed violence between the two groups. Meanwhile, the Palestinian people will continue to suffer under corruption, mismanagement & self-interest of those in control.

On a broader scale, Iran, with its lunatic President, will certainly try to take advantage of this change in Palestinian leadership to further its antipathy towards Israel.

The Middle East has just become a more dangerous place. President Bush was right in stating that he will not deal with a Hamas-led Palestine as long as it refuses to recognize Israel's right to existence. Nor will he allow a lunatic-led Iran to develop nuclear weapons. Hamastan & Iran, the U.S. & Israel - juxtaposed for a coming conflict.

25th Anniversary of Reagan's Inauguration

Today is the 25th year since Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as President in 1981. The following is a reprise of our post, written upon the death of this great American:

Ronald Wilson Reagan - American Icon, American Hero

A sad day it is upon learning of the death of our 40th President. Much more elegant words will flood the media than I can dare to write. Suffice it to say that he & I share the same values, the same beliefs in America, the same hopes for a better country & a better world.

Ronald Reagan brought to the White House a sense of hope when we as a people were floundering in high interest rates, high inflation rates, high unemployment, & a festering despair that the Cold War was being lost.

He had strong core beliefs, strong convictions, & he acted upon them to better the country & the world, despite the villification & smarmy jokes from those who opposed him.

And he was good to his word - inflation down dramatically, interest rates down dramatically, the promised tax cuts. But it was his unflinching belief that we could & would win the Cold War that will be his most profound & enduring legacy.

And above all else - his humor, his belief in the inherent goodness of people, his belief in his God - the man had character. And more so, he had class.

He & I share the same birthday, February 6, & so my affinity toward him is even that more personal.

Ninth Circuit Court Rules Parents Have No Rights

The infamous Ninth Circuit Court - the ones who ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional - has recently ruled that parents have no rights when it comes to what a school district can teach their children or how the district can administer them.

Palmdale school district in California distributed a survey for 1st, 3rd & 5th graders to complete. Consent letters were sent to parents to sign. However, the district failed to tell the parents that this psychological survey included sex questions. Instead, they cloaked it in bureaucratic gobblety-gook language - the notice merely stating that two psychologists would conduct an "assessment" to "establish a community baseline" for "internal behaviors such as anxiety and depression and external behaviors such as aggression and verbal abuse." The district was deceptive & deceiving. The Palmdale survey consisted of 54 questions. The two psychologists asked children to rate the following activities, among others, on a scale from "never" to "almost all the time". Remember - these are 1st, 3rd & 5th graders.:

"8. Touching my private parts too much
17. Thinking about having sex
22. Thinking about touching other people's private parts
23. Thinking about sex when I don't want to
26. Washing myself because I feel dirty on the inside
34. Not trusting people because they might want sex
40. Getting scared or upset when I think about sex
44. Having sex feelings in my body
47. Can't stop thinking about sex
54. Getting upset when people talk about sex"

The district eventually pulled the survey. Irate parents sued the district. And this is where the 9th Circuit comes into play. The suing parents were not even given the chance to state their case to the court. Instead, on a motion to dismiss the case, the court did just that. The court in their ruling stated that, "In summary, we hold that there is no free-standing fundamental right of parents to control the upbringing of their children by introducing them to matters of and relating to sex in accordance with their personal and religious values and beliefs and that the asserted right is not encompassed by any other fundamental right."

"... We conclude only that the parents are possessed of no constitutional right to prevent the public schools from providing information on that subject to their students in any forum or manner they select," the court added. "We further hold that a psychological survey is a reasonable state action pursuant to legitimate educational as well as health and welfare interests of the state." (no matter the content or young age, presumably - ed.)

The three-judge panel said "once parents make the choice as to which school their children will attend, their fundamental right to control the education of their children is, at the least, substantially diminished."

In response, the Constitution does not enumerate all rights. The court erred in this. Secondly, the ruling in effect tells parents "tough luck- the government will teach what it wants to your children & parents can go suck wind." They have given court sanction for school districts under their jurisdiction to teach what they please to whoever they please, no matter how outrageous or offensive to parents.

The courts are getting further out of control & the rights of citizens are further eroded. The recent disasterous emminent domain Kelso ruling, whereby the Supreme Court ruled that local & state government can take your property & give it to another private person, immediately reduced citizens to vassles of the state. And some states are quickly jumping on this ruling to take your property away.

Likewise, the smugness of school districts has just gone up a notch & some districts will jump on the 9th Circuit ruling to advance whatever agenda they please now, no matter how outrageous to parents.

Your rights as a citizen, & parent, are slowly being taken away - one ruling at a time. We pray there's a special hell for jackass judges of the likes of the 9th Circuit & Supreme Court.

Coca-Cola Cans Claus

Gentlemen, start your politically correct engines. The race is about to begin. Indeed. The Coca-Cola Company has started the Christmas season with a politically correct gift to Christmas bashers. It has removed Santa Claus from all its cans & bottles. Instead, polar bears with snowflakes will be given the honor.

Coca-Cola first put the jolly red dude on their products in 1930. It has been a success since then, not only because of the image of Santa, but because the imprinted Santa products are popular for collectors items. The Coca-Cola image of him has become the universally accepted image of Santa. It had become, dare we say, tradition. But that is all over now. As far as Coca-Cola is concerned, Santa can go pound snow. They made their tidy profits from his image. But now they have fallen into the PC mode - a more inclusive cola, if you will.

This is just the start of another seasonal assault on Christmas. Be prepared. We will post these assaults as we hear of them. Paris Burning - A Warning To America

As of this post, it is the 12th night of riots in France. The trouble has now spread to over 300 towns. Over 3,000 cars have been burned, along with a school, parking garage & other buildings. Amazingly, only one person has died so far.

The trouble started after 2 boys were accidentally electrocuted when they hid in a transformer, avoiding police. The surrounding area is largely Muslim - predominantly North African. The rioters are unorganized so far, but we expect some opportunists to change that. The rioters are predominantly young Muslim males. The French government has been an abysmal failure in curtailing the riots thus far. Additionally, there is underreported news that there has been rioting by Muslims in Denmark, too.

There are 5 million Muslims living in France. Unemployment is significant in their population. The French welfare system has entitlements for those who are unemployed. The Muslim population lives mostly in large, poor enclaves in French cities & towns. Some attribute the rioting with the unemployment situation amongst Muslims. To a point, maybe so. But why now & not sooner. Afterall, conditions have been the same for years now.

We think there is a more direct reason for the rioting. If true, it does not bode well for America: lack of assimilation, coupled with a Muslim population which rejects all things not Islamic. We think Muslims have a disdain for their host country, France, because it exhibited weakness & corruption before & after the Iraq War.

In America there is an on-going, quick shifting of demographics due to the large number of legal & illegal immigrants coming into the country. They are primarily Hispanic/Latino, but there are also large numbers of Chinese, Vietnamese, Somalians & others. We are talking over 2 million a year coming into the country to live. That is a large challenge to any society. Rather than a slowed down immigration policy that gives the immigrants, & the communities they settle in, time for assimilation, we have instead communities being overrun by the sudden influx. We have immigrants settling into one area of a city or state. Enclaves of culture-specific immigrants are thus created. They become separate & apart from the rest of the city or town. There is no need to assimilate into the culture of the host country - America - because they are a de facto nation within a nation. The language, the culture, the businesses, the schools are all within their culture. There is no inducement to expand themselves into the greater American culture. And we detect a distain for most things American amongst some of the immigrants.

What has resulted in America is a mutli-cultural mindset that not only celebrates diversity, but caters to the unassimilated. Drivers license tests are in 10 languages, report cards are sent out in 6 languages, press 1 for English...2 for Spanish...3 for Mandarin.. & on & on. Rather than celebrating diversity, we are purposely celebrating isolation of cultures.

America is great when its people share a common thread. As it stands now, we are becoming so many spools of thread that there may indeed come a time when the French riots will have been seen as a warning to the United States - a warning that not only should our states be united, but so should our people. Without serious reduction in legal immigration & without serious efforts to stem the invasion of illegals, without giving immigrants the time & chance to assimilate into the country, we will have not learned the lessons of the French riots.

School District: Halloween Banned - "Offensive to Witches"

We can not make this stuff up. A real school district with real administrators & real Board members has taken the unreal position that Halloween is offensive to witches & therfore they have banned Halloween celebrations in their schools.

The Puyallup school district, outside of Seattle, Washington sent letters out to parents advising them that Halloween celebrations, costumes & the traditional Halloween parade are now banned. They gave 3 primary reasons for the ban. The first 2 are a cover for their inane 3rd reason. First, Halloween parties and parades waste valuable classroom time. Second, some families can't afford costumes and the celebrations thus can create embarrassment for children. The 3rd reason? The district said Halloween celebrations and children dressed in Halloween costumes might be offensive to real witches.

"Witches with pointy noses and things like that are not respective symbols of the Wiccan religion and so we want to be respectful of that," a spokeswoman said.

On the district's list of guidelines related to holidays and celebrations is an item that reads: "Use of derogatory stereotypes is prohibited, such as the traditional image of a witch, which is offensive to members of the Wiccan religion."

An internal e-mail from October 2000 warned that "the Wiccan religion is a bona fide religion under the law, and its followers are entitled to all the protections afforded more mainstream religions. Building administrators should not tolerate such inappropriate stereotyping (images such as Witches on flying brooms, stirring cauldrons, casting spells, or with long noses and pointed hats) and instead address them as you would hurtful stereotypes of any other minority."

A few points: A. The Halloween parade is in the last half hour of classes. We seriously doubt that the wheels of learning will come to a stop for that lost half hour. They are using this "lost school time" as an excuse to further justify the ban on Halloween. B. They are taking the fun out of school by this ban & they are taking the creativity & imagination out of learning. C. We assume the district Halloween police will be searching classrooms for any inappropriate displaysof witches, black cats, etc. D. The school district has freakin idiots for administrators.

More than being idiots, they are sickeningly politically correct to an absurd point. Why not acknowledge Satanism or any of the myriad "religions" out there? This is the same school district that banned a fund-raisng event for tsunami victims because the fund-raisng involved a video game which the district deemed violent , though there is no empirical evidence that violent videos lead to school violence. It is also the same school district that has Winter & Holiday Concerts instead of acknowledging Christmas & the same district that has a Diversity Affairs Office with a Director & full time staff. That last item is telling. This office will go out of its way to justify its' existence by coming up with all sorts of culturally sensitve programs & dictums. Suffer the children.

Political Correctness Gone Pig Wild - Piggy Banks Banned

The innocuous, lovable piggy bank of your childhood days is now banned in England. Two banks there have come to the brilliant conclusion that piggy banks are offensive to Muslims, since Muslims consider pigs to be impure. Besides no longer given out piggy banks to children, the bank will also no longer use pigs in their advertisements. Naturally, the local Council of Mosques endorsed the idea.

In a related news item, a U.K. council office banned novelty pig calendars because - you guessed it - they might offend the Muslim community. Workers in the benefits department of the council were told to remove or cover up all pig related items, including toys, porcelain figures, calendars & even a tissue box featuring Winnie-the-Pooh & Piglet.

And in a further pig related news item, a head teacher in England banned all books containing pig related stories in the classroom.

In all these cases, the common term was "being sensitive to other cultures." This is pure insanity. There is the common-sensical notion of being sensitive to another culture as opposed to the non-sensical notion of kissing their ass. Where is the sensitivity to Christians, who are daily assaulted about their beliefs & celebrations. A Texas school bans green & red paper plates & napkins during their "Winter Holiday", because in their warped minds red & green are too Christmas & thus too Christian.

If stupidity can reach the point that pig images are banned in the world, then why not just ban everything that exists. Afterall, someone somewhere is bound to be offended by something. Why this sudden sensitivity to Muslims "feelings" is a mystery. However, to balance out this sensitivity with a little insensitivity, we at American Values offer the following to pig-offended Muslims:

82 Disgraceful Senators

Sen Tom Coburn (R-OK) included an amendment to a spending bill that would have redirected funding from some very expensive pork barrel projects. The money would be used in the New Orleans area instead, specifically to repair a major bridge that was damaged in New Orleans. It was voted down in an 82-15 vote. 82 disgraceful Senators would prefer to maintain their status quo on pork barreling then to have the money used where it is needed. One blogger noted that, "Using 2005 numbers, by voting down the 'Bridges' amendment, the Senate let the country know that it was unwilling to defund 2 out of 13,997 pork projects today. That’s 0.0142887762 percent."

It is not red state vs blue state, liberal vs conservative, Dem vs Repub. Instead, it is us, the citizens, against the likes of imperial, arrogant Senators & Congressmen who don't give a damn what's best for this country, but what's best for themselves & what they can take from taxpayers, for wasteful means, to garner themselves votes in re-elections, pay back cronies in their home states & further corrupt American politics. They should be horsewhipped.

These are the 15 Senators who had the courage to go against the "scratch my back" mentality in the Senate. We applaud them: Allard (R-CO), Allen (R-VA), Bayh (D-IN), Burr (R-NC), Coburn (R-OK), Conrad (D-ND), DeMint (R-SC), DeWine (R-OH), Feingold (D-WI), Graham (R-SC), Kyl (R-AZ), Landrieu (D-LA), Sessions (R-AL)Sununu (R-NH), Vitter (R-LA).

Senate Votes to Protect Funding for Alaska Bridges; Opposes Diverting Funds to Repair Bridge in New Orleans

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The U.S. Senate tonight defeated an amendment by Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) by a vote of 15 to 82 that would have blocked funding for two extravagant projects in Alaska and directed $125 million from those projects to the repair of the Twin Spans Bridge over Lake Pontachartrain which was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The Coburn amendment was offered to H.R. 3058, the Transportation, Treasury, HUD, Judiciary and District of Columbia Appropriations Act.

“The American people expect their elected officials to make sacrifices in a time of war, rising deficits, and disaster recovery. Unfortunately, many members of Congress are more committed to protecting a system that allows them to fund extravagant projects at the expense of the common good. Our refusal to prioritize spending and exercise restraint has created a rumble among the American people. Tonight’s vote will only cause that rumble to grow,” Dr. Coburn said.

The Coburn amendment would have blocked funding for a $223 million bridge to a town in Alaska with a population of 50 people. At $4.46 million per person, the cost of the bridge alone would be enough to buy every island resident their own personal Lear jet. The Coburn amendment also would have blocked funding for a $229 million bridge that would connect Anchorage, Alaska to hundreds of square miles of unpopulated wetlands.

The Coburn amendment would have then diverted $125 million in savings from those projects to repair the Interstate 10 Twin Spans Bridge in Louisiana, a 5.4 mile stretch of I-10 over Lake Pontchartrain which connects New Orleans with the city of Slidell. The Twin Spans serve as a major route into New Orleans for interstate commerce and working commuters.

Dr. Coburn offered another amendment to block funding for three special projects; $200,000 for an animal facility in Westerly, Rhode Island; $500,000 for a sculpture park in Seattle; and $950,000 for a parking facility for a private museum in Omaha, Nebraska. The Senate voted to table, or kill, the amendment by a vote of 13 to 86.

It's Not Just a Prom Anymore

The principal of Kellenberg Memorial High School in Long Island, NY, canceled the Spring prom. Bummer, dude. Party-pooper, dude. Well, here's why:

46 Kellenberg seniors made a $10,000 down payment on a $20,000 rental in the Hamptons for a post-prom party. When school officials found out, they forced the students to cancel the deal; the kids got their money back and the prom went on as planned. But some parents went ahead and rented a Hamptons house anyway.

Pre-prom cocktail parties followed by a trip to the dance in a liquor-loaded limo. Fathers chartering a boat for their children's late-night "booze cruise."

The principal of this Catholic High School, Kenneth M. Hoagland, had enough. He sent out letters to parents about the cancellation. His primary concern was the vulgar flaunting of materiality, "financial decadence", as he puts it.

We applaud such action. Parents are losing sight of what is important. They not only lavish material things on their children, they are accomplices to some of the more serious problems - such as provding alcohol, drugs, & sex havens, & all of it unmonitored or chaparoned.

Iraqi Vote an Overwhelming Success

The Iraqi referendum on the Iraq Constitution is now over & it was a huge success. It is estimated that over 66% of eligible voters voted. There were large turn outs in Sunni dominated areas. In Iraq's January election, Sunni participation was dismissal indeed. What is more surprising is that the expected level of violence from the terrorists was barely noticeable. Outside of a few incidents, the country was peaceful.

It is expected that the Constitution will pass, but there is no guarantee. This bodes well for the people of Iraq. It demonstrates that the Iraq's have had enough of the killing & violence of the terrorists. Al Qada has been effectively minimized. Iraqi's are looking forward to the rebuilding of their country & there is no room for terrorist scum.

In 2 1/2 years, the Iraq's have traveled far; from the iron fist of Saddam to the first ever freely voted upon Constitution in the Arab Middle East. It has not been an easy path, nor a peaceful one. However, all Iraqi's are the winners & the likes of the terrorists big time losers.

Whatever one thought of the war at its inception, all democracy-loving people should now rejoice in Iraq's steady steps to a truly democratic country. We believe, however, that the likes of the Michael Moores of the world will manage to find a cloud in this silver lining & will begrudge the Iraq's for this further step toward freedom. That is the kind of people they are. But as Ronald Reagan said, they will be left on the ash heap of history too.

A Bridge Too Far...Expensive

It's almost as long as the Golden Gate Bridge. It is higher than the Brooklyn Bridge. It will cost $223 million dollars. It is unofficially called "The Bridge to Nowhere." Congress just appropriated the money for it.

Where is it? Who does it serve? What is it? Ah, there's the rub. It is a bridge which will connect the population of Alaska's Gravina Island (population 50) with the giant city of Ketchikan (population 8,000).

As to what it is, well it is one of the biggest pork boondoggles this side of the Big Dig in Boston. Thanks to Rep. Don Young (R), who happens to chair the Transportation committee & who happens to represent the district where the bridge will be built, the $286 billion dollar transportation & highways bill was passed. Don was sure to get his share of the bacon.

The residents of those bustling communities have till now had to travel by ferry, at $6 a clip. But thanks to good ol' Don Young they can now use the money to buy a pack of cigarettes.

This bridge has to be the most unnecessary thing in the world. Considering that New Orleans reconstruction is going to cost a whopping amount, the $223 million would be better spent there. Or feeding the poor. Or housing the homeless.

It just goes to show you, folks, that Congressmen are in it for the pork. Not for the national good or what's best for the people. Congressmen & Senators are thieves, a legalized Mafia, where they cut the booty - aka tax dollars - amongst themselves. It cuts across both parties. There are no red states or blue states with them - it is only a state of green.

Delve deeper into the transportation bill & you'll see what the $286 billion is really being spent on & who's getting the goodies. Well, the term "pork" is fitting, since your elected officials are pigs.

Flight 93 Memorial Disgrace

Those brave souls on United flight 93 who fought the terrorist highjackers over Pennsylvania on 911 & died when the plane crashed, would be appalled to know that the winning memorial design at the site will include a prominent red crescent. The memorial is titled "Crescent of Embrace."

The red crescent is endemic to Islam. Some Islamic countries include it in their flag. And Arab countries have the Red Crescent - the Red Cross of the Middle East. The red crescent is found on mosques & other buildings. It is the symbol of ritual and religious life for Muslims. Fouad El Bayly of Somerset, leader of the Islamic Center of Johnstown, has said Muslims immediately would recognize the symbolism in the design. "The crescent is a symbol of Islamic faith", El Bayly said.

Paul Murdoch is the winning architect. "This is not about any religion per se," Murdoch said in a telephone interview with the Tribune-Democrat in Johnstown. "It's a spiritual space, and a sacred place, but it's open to anyone." The word "crescent," he said, was used as a generic architectural term for a curved line.

A few points. The crescent may be an architectual term, but that does not mean it has to be incorporated into the memorial's title. Murdoch is being disingenuous & dismissive of those who are appalled about the crescent reference. We hear no complaints from the ACLU types. Had Murdoch used a cross or Star of David, would they have maintained their silence? We doubt it. What exactly is the meaning of the title "Crescent of Embrace"? Embrace what - Islam?

This travesty is not unlike the shananigans with the 911 memorial at Ground Zero in New York where an "International Freedom Center" plans to use it as a mutli-cultural center for America bashing (see early post here), while placing the actual 911 memorial in a small area below ground.

Something is very wrong with this picture. Brave Americans who died fighting terrorists are mocked by the very symbol of the terrorists who caused their death. The 3,000 who were killed in New York are mocked by a "Freedom Center" which puts the 911 memorial in the backyard to its huge complex & plans events whereby the focus is not on 911, but on Abu Gharaib, Guantanamo or any other place, whereby anti-American forces in the world can rant against us in seminars & displays. It is sickening.

The National Park Service has the final decision on whether this design will be used. Call the Superintendent of the Flight 93 National Memorial at (814) 443-4557. Or fax (814) 443-2180.

Mark wrote an introspective post, "101 Things About Me", & it got us thinking about doing something similar. This is a tad more focused & a hell of a lot shorter. It is about friends. You know, that species that you just wanna kill sometimes if they weren't your friends. We also feel that we are on the verge of losing a friend for reasons unknown to us. Considering the, umm, circumstances with this friendship, it's probably for the best. Sad, truly, but past experience has shown us that friends can be fickle indeed- here today, gone tomorrow.
